Winter heard the faint sound of footsteps and didn't pause as she slapped Layla hard across the face. Mandy's face sported a look of horror that was anything but fake as a small noise came out of her mouth. Layla's head tossed to the side and when she looked back at Winter, she was in full character. Layla shoved Winter on the ground and Winter didn't try to regain her balance or dodge the blow. Layla hopped on her and winked. Winter thought, "Man what did we get ourselves into." Mandy started to get into character too as the kid who broke his leg entered the gym, "Guys! What are you doing! Stop fighting!" Winter focused on tossing Layla off of her and getting on her making it seem like they were tussling. Layla was more theatrical about her performance, the bigger the audience became. She kicked Winter off of her hard, to the point where Winter was thrown back a distance. Students were shouting and cheering in the background until Jax ran towards them, attempting to pull them apart. "Just shut up and leave us alone right now Jax," Winter hissed quietly as she shot him a poisonous look. Jax backed down. Layla was about to throw in a punch when Coach Russo's voice stopped her cold in her tracks. Winter's eyes flitted to the side as she delivered the final hit. She roundhouse kicked Layla in a place where it wouldn't hurt as much, without losing any momentum. Layla laid flat on her back, playing her part as the rest of the class got deathly silent. Coach Russo stood in shock for a moment before exploding, "You dare do that in my presence Knight?" Russo's face was as red hot as the fury displayed in her voice. Winter smirked, further goading her anger, thinking "Well this seems promising."
The rage in her eyes did not die down until a little woman with dark hair and glasses crossed the gym hurriedly to where Coach Russo was standing. The woman cleared her throat when she got to Coach Russo until her attention was on the little woman. Coach Russo bent down and the woman whispered something in her ear. Winter could see the wrath slowly leave her eyes and muttered a curse under her breath. The little woman stood there a moment longer before Coach Russo set her hands on her hips and calmly said, "What was this all about?" Winter glanced over to where Layla slowly sat up on the floor and remembered the story they agreed on but said nothing. She gave Layla a look that told her to do the same. Winter noted Coach Russo's anger trying to keep itself in check as she kept glancing at the small woman to remind her of her presence. "You're not going to answer?" Defiant silence was the only reply she received as she exhaled, "Both of you give me one hundred push ups." Winter got on the ground and did a hundred push ups as fast as she could. She noticed Layla following suit. As soon as they finished they stood up without any problems. Winter's icy blue eyes met Coach Russo's muddled brown ones. She did not falter as she said, "Is that all?" Coach Russo began to huff and then caught herself. The tiny woman next to Coach Russo merely watched Winter. Winter couldn't help but wonder about her identity. "That's all," Coach Russo relented before turning to the rest of the class, "What are you looking at? This isn't reality TV. Get moving people!" The class meandered about for a moment more before bustling around the gym. Winter did not sport any emotions on her face as she glanced at Mandy and Layla, tilting her head signaling them to follow.
They all headed out of the gym and regrouped in the hallway. "Why didn't that work?" Mandy grumbled. Winter looked up at the ceiling, exasperated. They turned their heads as they heard the gym door creak. Jax stalked up to them, "Someone want to tell me what that was all about?" Just as Winter opened her mouth to explain, Jax waved her off "Don't bother. I can detect a reenactment when I see one." Layla placed her hands on her hips, "This is all your fault Jax." Jax furrowed his eyebrows, "My fault?" Mandy nodded, "You're the one who told Winter about the detention dungeon and put the ideas in her head." Jax's eyes widened in a mix of surprise and understanding, "You're not trying to go there are you?" Winter rolled her eyes, "Of course I am. I have to know." Jax shook his head, examining them all, "Look at what you did to each other." Winter corrected, "Not what we did to each other, what Mandy did to us." Confusion spread on Jax's face before Mandy pulled a makeup brush seemingly out of nowhere and waved it. "My powers of makeup reign supreme." Winter and Layla nodded. "So you didn't hit each other?"Jax confirmed. "We did. But not enough to cause these injuries," Winter explained. "We hit each other just enough to make it believable," Layla added. Jax looked down, letting out a breath of relief, "You guys are so dumb." Winter pouted, mocking him, "Was someone worried?" Jax's face flushed as he cleared his throat, "Not at all." Mandy turned towards them, "What now?" Winter quirked her head, "Getting mad is last on the list." Mandy, Layla, and Jax all shared one of those looks Winter had a hard time placing. Jax said, "I don't think that's a good idea. If you haven't gotten thrown in the dungeon yet, I don't think you ever will." Winter observed him for a moment. Mandy jumped in, "Yeah Winter, maybe you're just not meant to get tossed in the dungeon." Layla nodded. Winter thought, "So this is where they cross the line?" She stared in the direction of the headmaster's wing, its presence constantly tugging at her, "Why?"
