Nine hundred years ago, the world changed.
It began without warning—one man, engulfed in a sudden blaze, his body reduced to ash in moments. No one understood it then. A freak incident, perhaps. But it was only the beginning.
Soon, others followed.
Flames erupting from skin. Water dripping from bare palms. Sparks dancing in the air around trembling fingers. Humanity had awakened something ancient and unfathomable—Elements. Forces of nature and spirit, once dormant, now surged through bloodlines and bones. Society was unprepared. It adapted, as it always does—but not without cost.
Some used their newfound powers to heal, to build, to protect.
Others chose destruction.
They were called Anti-Guards—those who twisted their elements for greed, cruelty, or chaos. And so, balance demanded a counterforce: the Element Administrative Authority, or E.A.A., a global institution to train, monitor, and protect the elemental age. It brought order to a world once teetering on the brink of collapse.
But not all lives could be measured by balance and justice.
Not mine.
I was born with a failing heart—a cruel, broken engine in a body expected to kill silently, swiftly, and without question. My family, the Soshikabe clan, was one of whispered legends and shadows. Assassins by birthright. Precision by nature. But I was the crack in the lineage. Weak. Fragile. A disappointment wrapped in skin.
They pitied me quietly and forgot me even faster.
But they were wrong.
Inside this frail body lies something they couldn't see. Something even I didn't understand at first: five elements. Not one. Not two. Five.
Fire. Water. Lightning. Earth. Wind.
A phenomenon rarer than prophecy. A burden heavier than fate.
This isn't just a story about school or survival, or even assassination.
This is the story of how I juggled the chaos of multi-elemental control, school life under the E.A.C., and the darkness my family bred into me… until all of it, slowly and inevitably, began to unravel.
This is the story of how I lost everything—
Including my life.
