Even though he had heard every single word crystal clear—every steady, breathtaking syllable of her surrender echoing in the quiet suite—Travis stood near the edge of her bed and innocently tilted his head, pretending to be completely oblivious. His dark eyes sparkled with a brazen, unapologetic light. "I'm so sorry, Jill. I didn't catch that last part clearly. Mind repeating it for me?"
Jillyanna stared at him, her mouth agape in sheer disbelief before her eyes flashed with pure, unadulterated annoyance.
"My god! You are so unbelievably infuriating!" she gasped out, her face flushing bright red. "I am not saying it again! Forget I ever said anything!"
Without giving him another second to gloat, Jillyanna violently yanked the thick white duvet over her shoulders, slid beneath the covers, and turned her back on him completely, curling into a stubborn, impenetrable ball on the mattress.
