The heavy front doors burst open with a harsh, violent force as Jillyanna stumbled into the foyer, completely drenched from head to toe. The ice-cold rain had plastered her dark hair to her shoulders, her pastel-pink off-shoulder blouse and white jeans weighed down by the downpour. Water pooled around her feet, but she didn't bother taking off her soaked sneakers. She simply stormed inward, her steps leaving muddy, wet tracks across the hardwood floor.
"Oh shit! You just recovered from your fever and you're out there getting drenched?!" Valkyrie exclaimed, jumping up from the sofa as he caught sight of her trembling figure. "Hold on, I'm getting you a towel right—"
"No need. I am fine," Jillyanna cut him off, her voice dangerously flat and devoid of emotion.
