Once Travis finished dressing her up, he smoothed down the lapels of the tailored jacket, picked up the long, heavy wool trench coat from the bed, and draped it carefully over his arm. The afternoon air outside was still relatively mild, so it was fine if she didn't throw it over her shoulders just yet.
"Let's go," Travis murmured softly.
Before she could anticipate his movement or step back, he leaned down and pressed a warm, tender kiss directly onto her forehead.
The sudden, intimate gesture ignited an immediate explosion of fury in Jillyanna's chest. Her eyes widened, her entire body going rigid as a wave of intense anger washed over her, so overwhelming she briefly lost the ability to speak.
"Stop doing whatever you feel like doing!" she spat out through tightly gritted teeth, her voice trembling with barely suppressed rage. "I am not your wife, and I will never become your wife! You explicitly stated it yourself, so don't you dare play dumb with me now!"
