Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Fenrir's ears perked up when she saw the flowers suddenly form in the palm of the other girl. Looking up at her, she took a step back, not fully trusting the flowers, or the girl. "I..uh...no. I dont need anything. I would know if I did."

Tori chuckles again at her reaction, and the statement. Shrugging, she turned her palm, the flowers falling to the ground. This girl was amusing, and she was smart. Tori liked her already. "All right then little one" Tori takes another step closer, watching as the girl takes one step back. She smiles, her eyes twinkling mischievously as she leaned down, tilting her head. "If you ever do think of anything you need, anything at all, you know where to find me" Standing up straight, Tori reach out, gently touching the top of her head before walking past her, heading deeper into the woods once again. She glances over her shoulder, seeing the girl standing there, not moving. She continued walking, almost out of view of the wolf, before placing her hand on a large tree, getting ready to step inside it. Tree-striding would be a more effective way of checking out the forest, since it was so huge.

Fenrir froze as the girl stepped closer to her, instinctively taking a step back. There was that strange feeling again. Something about her was different, off, and she couldnt figure out what it was, Maybe it was that she could use magic, and they were the ones who were after her most. When the other girl bent down, a grin on her face, she held her breath. She did take notice of her eyes though. They were an unusual color, golden yellow, a mischievous look in them. She barely registerd the hand that touched her hair as she left. Those eyes looked familiar, but Fenrir knew she had never met her before. She had been alone since she was a child. Blinking suddenly to clear her head, she noticed the other girl was gone. Looking around, she saw her almost out of view, her hand going to a tree. Her words fully registering in her head. "Hey..Im not short ok. Your just freakishly tall. And what do you mean I know how to find you? I dont even know who or what you are." For some reason, Fenrir started to walk towards the girl. She stopped a few yards from where the other stood, their hand still on the tree.

Tori paused, turning to look at the little wolf. She gave a small laugh as the girl walked towards her, stopping a short distance away, her arms crossed as she looked upset. Deciding to have a little fun, Tori stepped into the tree, the calming feeling of the tree welcoming her soothed her. Stepping out behind her, Tori smiles at the small yelp the girl gave, turning to look at her wide eyed. "Im actually average height for my people. So yes, you are tiny, little wolf." Tori smiled at the girl, seeing her nose crinkle up abit at the nickname. She reminded Tori of one of her old friends. Small, fierce, and fun to mess with.

Fenrir watched as the girl dissappeard into the tree, reappearing suddenly behind her. Spining around, she stared at her wide eyed. What the hell...She had never seen someone do that before. Fenrir felt her breath quicken, realizing even more that if something happened, she wouldnt be able to get away. Letting out a growl, she tried to compose herself. "Average my ass, your like 8 feet tall. What the hell are you that that is average?" Looking up at her, she saw a twinkling in the others eyes. Was she teasing her? Scowling slightly, Fenrir took a few steps back, getting annoyed when the girl followed her. She growled again, hoping the other would back off.

Tori let out a laugh at the girl. The growl coming from her was adorable. Tori knew she was trying to be intimidating, but having grown up around a lot more intimidating people, it was cute. "Close, Im 198cm, at least in this form." Teasing the little wolf, Tori smiled at her reaction to the info. It wasnt true, not totally, but she didnt know that. Hooking her thumbs in the waist band of her pants, Tori cocked her hip, her head tilting as she grinned down at the other girl. "I like you, little wolf. Whats your name?"

Fenrir was taken back when she was suddenly asked her name." I....its Fenrir. Why?" Narrowing her eyes at the girl, her ears laying back a little as she took another step away from her. She was confused on why the other had wanted her name. No one else had ever bothered to know her name, they didnt need it to use her, and none of her previous captors had ever bothered. Her own family had rarely used her name.

Tori tilted her head, hearing the other girls name. "Fenrir...hmm. I like that name. It suits you." Grinning at Fenrir, she gave a small half bow. "You can call me Tori." She took a step closer to Fenrir, getting amused as she took a step back, Tori continued this until Fenrir was almost backed into a tree. "Why do you keep stepping back Fenrir? Do I make you that nervous? You have nothing to worry about, Im not going to hurt you."

Fenrir stepped back each time Tori stepped closer. She wrapped her tail around her leg nervously. She was starting to get annoyed with her teasing, her ears flattening at the teasing look on Tori's face. "Im not nervous. Im completely calm. I just dont like you getting that close to me" Fenrir noticed she was almost backed up into a tree. Great...now she was trapped. What game was she playing? Fenrir wasnt sure if she could trust Tori, she still made her nervous, and there was still that strange feeling coming from her that set her on edge. And that strange feeling of familiarity was starting to scare her. She didnt like it, and she could smell the other wolves getting closer.

Tori watched as Fenrir wrapped her tail around her leg, her ears flattening as she glared slightly. She had to give her points, she didnt back down easy. It made teasing her that much more amusing. "Calm my ass, little wolf. If you were calm you wouldnt have your tail wrapped around your legs like a scared pup." Turning away from her, Tori walked to the nearest tree, leaning against it as she turned back to the wolf. Crossing her arms over her chest, she rolled her eyes, shrugging. "Whatever you say little wolf. By the way, did you know your eyes are glowing slightly?" Tori let out a sigh, clicking her tongue as she watched Fenrir take a defensive stance. Jeez, what happened to this kid to make her so defensive and on guard? She was worse then Razel. Rubbing the back of her neck, she let out another sigh. "Look, im not the best at what people call social skills. I just.. look... here." She opened her hand, creating another small bouquet of flowers before waving her hand slightly, causing a breeze to carry them to Fenrir. "I can take a hint Fenrir. I just wish you luck on whatever you are doing." Pushing off from the tree, she started to walk away. So much for having fun. She would have liked to spend more time with her, but there was no point hanging around if Fenrir was gonna be defensive and nervous all the time. She raised her hand, giving her a half wave as she walked off.

Fenrir stood there, flinching slightly as the flowers touched her. How did she do that? Fenrir had never seen anyone do it. She felt a bit sad when she saw the hurt look in Tori's eyes. Fenrir wasnt used to people being nice to her, or socializing in general with people. She was so used to being hurt, and she had been on the run for so long. "Tori...I" Fenrir started to call out, stopping when she saw Tori give her a small wave over her shoulder. She took a deep breath, shutting her eyes tight before making up her mind. Fenrir started after Tori, her head held down a little as she watched her. She stopped walking when Tori looked at her, arching a brow. "Im..Im sorry. People make me nervous, Im used to being alone." She didnt know why she was explaining herself. She didnt owe Tori anything, but she had felt a twinge of fear at suddenly being left alone. Her instincts were telling her to stay with Tori, yet they were also telling her to run away. It was confusing, but she wanted to know what this familiarity was, and to be honest, she was curious about her.

"Look Fenrir, you dont have to force yourself to hang around me. And you dont have to explain anything. I get it." She stopped walking, turning to look at Fenrir, her gaze softening. "Despite what others may have done to you, Im not going to hurt you. I dont get pleasure in hurting others. Teasing, being a general pain in the ass? Yeah, thats me. But I dont hurt people unless they deserve it. Or they piss me off." I noticed her relax alittle. Tori still couldnt put her finger on it, but something about Fenrir drew her to the wolf. And it felt different from Nyx, or the others. But she also knew not to force things, having been forced to live a life she didnt want, to be around people she would rather avoid. It wasnt something that you got over easily. And since she was making it clear she wasnt going to leave her alone, Tori rolled her eyes, sighing. Looks like tree-striding was out of the question. "Out of curiosity Fenrir, do you always travel in the trees? Seems like there would be a more efficient way for you to travel then jumping from tree to tree?"

Fenrir looked at Tori confused. How did she know she had been traveling in the trees? And she got the teasing part right. All Tori had done since meeting her was tease her. "How did you know?" She tilted her head slighty as she looked at her, scowling a little as Tori smiled secretively. "And I usually travel on the ground. Though not normally like this.." Fenrir paused, not sure if she should tell Tori or not. Noticing the hint of curiosity in her eyes, she sighed softly. Closing her eyes and relaxing her body, Fenrir shifted into her wolf form. Her clothes ripping off as her body changed, nearly doubling in size, her yellow and blue eyes glowing. In this form, she was as tall as Tori. Looking back at Tori, Fenrir noticed the look of surprise on her face before she started laughing. This was not the reaction she was expecting, then again, everything Tori did was not what she was expecting. She was so unlike anyone Fenrir had ever met before.

Tori laughed as Fenrir shifted into a large dire wolf, her eyes glowing slightly. That was not what she was expecting at all. And for her to be this tall, was quite remarkable. "Im going to guess your more comfortable as a wolf, huh Fenrir. The only down side to this is your quite noticeable." She smiled when Fenrir nodded her head in agreement. She bent down, picking up Fenrir's torn clothing. She would have to fix this later, for now she opened the small pocket dimension she used to store things. Taking a step back from her, Tori smiled, letting out a low chuckle as Fenrir gave her a strange look. If she though opening a pocket dimension was cool, she would love this. Tori relaxed, using her powers to shift into a large dire wolf, the same size as Fenrir. Unlike her though, all of Tori's things melded into her body as she shifted. Seeing the shocked look in Fenrir's eyes, Tori gave her a toothy smirk, a deep chuckle erupting from her new form.
