I had my eyes focused on the ring of mines that was holding back the competitors, and the first to leave that magical cloud were the angeloids Astraea and Ikaros, as that cloud was the job of their teammates, they had to know the safest route.
Ranni's team seemed to be dominating the first competition but that's when my own traps were activated, stone pillars extended from the side of the mountain at high speed and tried to knock the girls down.
Astraea's superhuman reflexes let her dodge the attack that came from a problematic angle, Ikaros on the other side summoned a pair of cannons and exploded the stone pillar, that barely stopped the girls but what came next was more problematic the pillars split and flew towards the girls like suicide drones.
While they were dealing with that the rest of the teams left the minefield and seeing what the angeloids were facing, they made their own strategys, Sung-sun rode on Mila Rose's back, I couldn't hear what they were saying but Mila Rose didn't seem happy with having to carry her partner but a few words from Sung-sun of I think explaining her plan made Mila Rose calm down.
Mila Rose and the soul reaper Matsuri took care of the floating pillars and cubes, leaving Sung-sun to rest, she will probably jump to the top at the appropriate time.
Rias instead stood between the mountain and her devils like a living shield, I thought she wasn't the most appropriate for that crude strategy but she proved how capable she was by surrounding her body with a red aura of her destruction magic, everything that came near her disintegrated before they could touch her, I felt somewhat proud that she could use such an advanced technique.
In the final stretch of the race to the top the Angeloids were still in the lead but the other teams were hot on their heels, and In the last stretch, Astraea grabbed Ikaros's hand and she spun quickly in the sky and with that centrifugal force she threw Ikaros to the top, Sung-sun and Matsuri stood on Mila Rose's palms and she used all her strength to throw her companions to the top, Rias who was leading her team at constant speed suddenly ran out of energy and she couldn't continue, she started to fall and Issei flew to catch her while Koneko continued ahead, Issei put Rias on one of the upper platforms and seemed to want to stay with her but she gave him the order to continue without her and he obeyed with some hesitation.
The order in which they reached the top was first Ikaros, then Sung-sun and Matsuri, and last were Koneko and Issei.
The teams at three corners of the summit exchanged glances and the first to attack was Sung-sun, firing Ceros at the other teams, Issei tanked the attack with his Boosted Gear and Ikaros just flew over the attack, as long as she did not ascend more than five meters she would be within the domain of the platform.
Ikaros kept her distance from the others and on the other side Koneko made a direct attack on the Hollow team, Sung-sun tried to keep her at bay with multiple Bala attacks, but Koneko missed the attacks with minimal effort Matsuri then tried to stop her but with a powerful fist she pushed the soul reaper to the edge of the platform, with her new mastery of senjutsu thanks to Yasaka's training, Koneko created purifying fire rings around her and they flew towards Sung-sun, she felt danger from that attack and she froze for a second.
We were using the same rules as IS competitions,we we4 using personal barriers and when those barriers were exhausted the participant would be thrown out for two rounds and with that attack it seemed that Sung-sun was going to be the first disqualified But at that moment Mila Rose arrived and dispersed the attack with her sword, her strong points were physical strength and resistance but she did not come out of that attack unharmed.
Astraea also reached the top but it seems that the Angeloids were going to stick to their strategy of staying on the defensive.
After that the teams took a moment to collect themselves and plan their next move, Sung-sun was the first to move again, jumping down onto one of the upper platforms, Mila Rose reacted confused and angry to that move but I could understand it, Sung-sun was more of a strategist than a fighter and the objective of this competition was to accumulate points not to defeat the opponent, of course, eliminating all opponents will ensure victory, but Ranni's team has remained in first place throughout the competition without directly attacking the competition.
Sung-sun left her companions at the top, confident that at least they could avoid being thrown off the platform, but Mila Rose was not going to take a defensive strategy, She began to release her energy and she underwent a transformation, the Hollow girls had told me about this ability called Resurrección, by releasing the power sealed in their swords they gained power and some of their previous Hollow qualities, Mila Rose used to wear clothes that didn't cover much, but now that was replaced by bikini armor, with a golden mane helmet on her head and a larger sword in her hands.
Facing that increase in power, the devil Issei activated his balance breaker and he was covered with a red dragon armor, it's good to see that Rias is not the only one making progress.
The Hollows and the devils concentrated on each other since the angeloids did not plan to attack, Issei used his dragon shot with an impressive power that he seemed to have been gathering since the competition started, Mila Rose matched that with a Cero attack but again she ended up taking damage.
After that she lunch herself at Issei and with a strong grab she thought of throwing them both off the platform.
