The wind was whispering secrets into her ears ones again. The rabbit she saw every morning was nowhere to be found today. She'd waited an hour longer than usual and yet there was no sign from the nice fellow. His skips and jumps was one of the favorite things about waking up so early every day.
Nanook jumped around Loraison's legs at the far end of the clearing. The little polar bear was as happy as could be when he was near the werebear. While he might favor herself she always knew that not being a bear herself atleast not always, did make Nanook a bit confused. One time he had asked her when he was going to turn into a two legged humanoid with firery hair. After explaining it to him he seemed even more confused but still accepted her as his mother. Loraison was a werebear normally so he acted as a sort of grandpa to little Nanook, there was also things that were more natural for him to ask him about instead of herself but still she could feel the small spark of jealousy every time that happened. Loraison rarely yelled, this time tho she knew it was serious. It was the same look she saw two weeks ago. When he sneaked out of their home and came home hours later bloody. He'd promised to take her with the next time and it finally seemed like this would be it. The first few times she'd followed him for as long as possible, everytime he managed to get away. Either through tricks she had been taught but never mastered or just by raw skill. He looked her in the eyes after screaming at Nanook to go and wait with the rest. His head was shaking. A clear "no". She was giving him a stern look. He knew deep inside that she wouldn't take no for an answer. Not this time. He took off. Running faster than she had ever seen him run. She was ready. All that cardio training, hours spent memorizing the forrest. He wouldn't get away again. Her legs moved on their own. She picked up Nanook as she sprinted after her adoptive father and mentor. He was pushing himself harder than usual today. Hoping he would out run her again.
~I won't have it. She said through gritted teeth as she was ducking beneth branches and jumping over roots. The woods were filled with secret matnings made in druidic. Signs only a trained druid would ever be able to read. The one she passed by seven trees ago pointed towards a shortcut through the forrest. The rabbit she'd been waiting for jumped around the corner and was forced to jump to the side or be stepped on.
~ I'm sorry! she yelled as she kept running after Loraison. In the rush after him in the begining she had overlooked the fact that she'd put Nanook's collar on wrong. While he had shrunk to the correct size, he was currently trying to tug it loose. She was going to loose time but it would be disastrous to have him turn into his full size and destroy her coat. She stopped and picked Nanook up and quickly made sure it was on correctly. He gave her a quick little bear hug before he got put into her magical pocket again. She could hear a loud roar and the sounds of battle as she approached the clearing. Her eyes made out Lorasion fighting some sort of spiderlike creature whilst men fought eachother further away. To her right in the shadows she saw a tiger with extraordinary teeth laying in wait watching the battle.
~ It's now or never. She thought to herself as she jumped up into the air and transformed into a big brown bear.
