When they made it back to Steel's house, they found the man in question finishing up a meal. "Ah, you're back," said Steel with a touch of surprise.
"Wait, why do you seem so surprised about that?" asked Kat.
"A number of people, myself included, sort of assumed that you'd both take the chance to leave when you could. Considering the issues you've had here," admitted Steel with a slight shrug.
"Perhaps," agreed Kat. "We ultimately decided to stick around for now though."
"Hmm, well we might need to look into getting you your own place if you plan to stick around more long term. For now though, it's not an issue. The reason I called you over, assuming you came back, is that Jen Halebloom woke up while you were away. Not for long, and we didn't even try to question her at the time. All that's happened so far is she's woken up, eaten, and then collapsed again.
