After the checkup, Su Lihua returned to find Su Guyu already asleep on top of his Chinese textbook.
"Guyu."
The little guy stirred but did not wake up.
Su Lihua walked softly over to pick him up. A child's body is supple, a tiny bundle with hardly any weight, snuggling in an adult's arms. Su Lihua paused for a moment before awkwardly undressing and removing his shoes, then carried him to the hospital bed.
At that moment, someone knocked on the door.
Su Lihua tucked in the blanket, then went to open the door. "Are you finished with work?"
The light in the room was a warm yellow, casting gentle outlines on everyone within.
Lin Dongshan nodded. "Yes." She walked in. "How's Guyu?"
"He's asleep."
She looked toward the hospital bed. "I'll go wake him."
Su Lihua stopped her. "Let him sleep."
She turned her gaze toward his hand.
It was then that he released his hold, his brows and eyes clear and handsome. "Is there a microwave in the hospital?"
