"Let's have dinner with my girlfriend tomorrow."
This sentence, composed of words which seem to carry no issue individually, somehow becomes unbearably annoying when strung together.
Xiao Yixing's eyes emitted a cold temperature as he fixed his gaze on him and spat out a few words:
"It seems you are really in love, needing to show it off grandly."
Huo Qi: "I—"
"What time?" Xiao Yixing asked, cutting him off before he could speak.
Huo Qi: "…"
The two looked at each other, and finally, Huo Qi chuckled slightly at the corner of his lips, a smile that was not quite a smile:
"Then I'll wait for you to get off work in the evening."
As he spoke, he glanced at his car and added, "Let's go, I'll give you a ride."
Xiao Yixing, however, turned and left without looking back, leaving two words drifting in the air:
"No need."
He left decisively, as if he couldn't stand to stay another second.
Huo Qi watched his resolute figure walking away, clenching his fists slightly.
