Six warriors in each team, two wolves each, moving through the Laboni undergrowth in silence that had naturally come from practice.
And behind all of them, on an ash-furred wolf that was being extremely patient about the whole situation, Lovan.
He was not a natural hunter, warrior, or fighter in general. This was not a secret. Even his wolf knew it, the warriors knew it, and Lovan himself knew it with the cheerful self-awareness of a goblin who had long since made peace with his limitations and simply worked around them.
