Naruto: The Second Chance of Obito Uchiha
Chapter 26: The Fall of the Third Raikage
The northern battlefield had become a clash between four shinobi who represented the peak of their generation.
Minato Namikaze against A.
Obito Uchiha and Kakashi Hatake against Killer B.
Neither side was willing to give ground.
Lightning exploded across the battlefield.
A moved like a storm, his Lightning Release Armor pushing his body beyond normal limits.
Minato vanished and reappeared repeatedly, forcing A to constantly adjust.
Every strike from A carried enough power to break through stone.
Every attack from Minato carried the precision of a shinobi who had mastered space and time.
"You are difficult to hit."
A's fist stopped inches from Minato.
Minato avoided the attack with Flying Thunder God.
"And you are difficult to surprise."
The two warriors continued their battle.
On the other side of the battlefield…
Killer B fought against Obito and Kakashi.
Eight swords moved in a deadly rhythm.
Kakashi blocked one attack.
Another came from behind.
Obito's Sharingan followed every movement.
"Left!"
Kakashi immediately moved.
The blade missed.
B laughed.
"Sharingan watching, teamwork tight,
Two Leaf shinobi ready to fight!
Fool, ya fool!"
Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan activated.
The air twisted.
B's expression changed.
He had seen powerful techniques before.
But he had not expected this.
The chakra surrounding Obito expanded.
A massive skeletal warrior formed around him.
The Susanoo.
Killer B stopped.
For a moment…
There was no joke.
No rap.
Only surprise.
"An Uchiha power from the ancient scrolls…"
"A giant warrior standing tall…"
"Fool, ya fool…"
Even B understood how rare this was.
A young shinobi using Susanoo was almost unheard of.
The Susanoo blocked B's eight swords.
The impact shook the battlefield.
But Obito's body suffered the consequences.
His breathing became heavier.
Blood flowed from his eye.
Kakashi noticed immediately.
"Obito, stop."
Obito refused.
"If I stop…"
"They break through."
Across the battlefield, A sensed the massive chakra.
His eyes briefly shifted.
Minato appeared instantly.
"You cannot afford distractions."
A blocked the attack and stepped back.
"That Uchiha…"
"He awakened Susanoo."
Minato remained silent.
A understood the danger.
But he also understood the weakness.
"He is powerful."
"But his body cannot sustain it."
Before the battles could continue…
A message arrived from the Cloud command unit.
A's expression changed.
The messenger lowered his head.
"Lord A…"
"The Third Raikage has fallen."
Silence surrounded the battlefield.
The Third Raikage had been fighting on another front against the Hidden Stone.
When Kumogakure's forces became surrounded by an overwhelming Iwagakure army, the Third Raikage refused to abandon his soldiers.
He stayed behind alone.
He fought thousands of enemy shinobi.
For three days and three nights, he battled without rest.
His body became covered in wounds.
His chakra continued to run out.
But he refused to fall.
The Third Raikage's final moments were spent protecting his village and his men.
Even surrounded by thousands of enemies…
He stood until the very end.
The news reached every battlefield.
Kumogakure soldiers froze.
Their leader was gone.
A closed his eyes.
The loss was not just personal.
It changed the entire war.
Killer B lowered his swords.
His usual smile disappeared.
"My brother…"
The battlefield became quiet.
For once, B had no words.
A placed a hand on his shoulder.
"We withdraw."
B looked toward the Leaf forces.
"But…"
A shook his head.
"The mission has changed."
"The Cloud cannot continue this battle."
Minato noticed immediately.
"They're retreating."
Kakashi looked toward the Cloud army.
"The Third Raikage…"
Minato nodded.
"His death changes everything."
A looked at Minato one final time.
"This battle ends here."
Minato nodded.
"Until next time."
Killer B turned toward Obito.
The young Uchiha's Susanoo was already fading.
B smiled faintly.
"Uchiha kid with the giant warrior bright,
You changed the flow of this whole fight.
Fool, ya fool."
Obito lowered his eye.
He was exhausted.
But he remained standing.
The Cloud forces began their organized retreat.
Konoha had won the battlefield.
But no one celebrated.
The death of the Third Raikage reminded everyone of the reality of war.
Even the strongest shinobi could fall.
That night, Obito rested inside the medical tent.
Rin checked his injuries.
"You pushed yourself again."
Obito smiled weakly.
"But everyone came back."
Rin looked at him quietly.
That was what mattered to him now.
Not glory.
Not recognition.
Just making sure the people beside him survived.
Outside the camp, Minato looked toward the distant mountains.
The northern front had been secured.
The Cloud had retreated.
But the war was far from over.
The death of one Kage had changed the balance of power.
And every village would now decide their next move.
