China fell down as a tight slap landed on her left cheek,tears poured down as the pain suffocated her.
"Whether you like it or not,you'll work as a maid for the Auroras." Her father yelled at her. "But I don't want to, I want to study and become a doctor." She pleaded as more tears came down her burning red cheek.
"Doctor my foot,you little brat! You should be grateful we're letting you live with us. You're ridden with bad luck, nothing good has come out of sending you to high school so far so we've decided you aren't going to university and that's final."Her stepmother spat,annoyed.
" Father please don't do this to me,I'm your daughter you can't treat me like this " She said still in tears.
"You foolish child, I've pampered you rotten and it's time to straighten you out. I've taken care of you and now it's time for you to repay me by working for the Auroras as a maid." Her father stated.
"But father I won't be treated well, you know Anna,that little slut ran away with their eldest son." China said and she got another slap,this time from her stepmother.
"How dare you talk about my darling daughter like that, you witch. You're just like you're mother stubborn and ungrateful." Her stepmother raged.
"It hurts doesn't it? Giving birth to a slut. At least I know she inherited the trait from you." China said with an evil grin.
That was the last straw,she was beaten so badly and locked up in the storeroom. She was used to it though, being mistreated,battered and broken.
She was left in the storeroom for days without food so she would be forced to accept but she didn't budge. Bruised all over, starved and cold, she fell terribly sick and almost died.
In her subconscious,she had a dream about meeting her departed mother who told her to succumb to her father's wishes for behind every door was a surprise.
Waking up after three days and finding herself in a hospital, she called her father and told she would become a maid.
Happy and proud of himself, he said. "I knew you would eventually budge,I'm your father and you must obey me. If you hadn't I would have disowned you."
The man was completely oblivious of the fact that China agreed because of the words of her dead mother.
A week later,she was discharged, an unhappy and hurt young woman.
She was properly groomed and taken to the Aurora mansion where she was to begin her work as a maid.
Never did she know that the only reason she was asked for,neglecting the thousands of girls that wanted the job was so she could be punished for the sins of her step sister.
