Chapter 243 - I want to rip it apart

'It was awfully nice of Yao to do that.' Xuan signed as they leisurely strolled on the campus road.

Wei Jingyu nodded, the light of the moon catching beautifully in his hair. "It's all because of you really." he continued when Xuan pointed to herself, surprised, "Yeah. All of us had been pretty much conditioned to stay away from anything that does not fit into the society's view of 'acceptable'. And because of that everyone used to shun Shaoyan and he was always bullied. But now that everyone's gotten to know him, they really like him a lot better. And all because you showed us that different does not necessarily mean bad."

Ying Xuan hung her head upon hearing Jingyu's speech. She slowly lifted her hands to sign, 'It's because I'm different, I've never fit into the society's view of 'acceptable'.'

Xuan looked around when Weiwei's Jingyu suddenly stopped short upon hearing her say that. She turned around and saw a fire blazing in Jingyu's eyes. "It's the society that's wrong Xuan. No, listen to me." He said, grabbing Xuan's hands just as she began to sign in protest, "No Xuan. All these pretentious people walking around dictating the rules of how one should behave are wrong. They are just snobs who think they can control the world just because they have a little money. They think that anyone who is not a carbon copy of them deserves to be locked out of sight.

"And I am willing to rip apart such a society that thinks you should be locked away. It should be replaced by genuinely kind people who understand that differences are something to be celebrated, not condemn." Jingyu was panting by the time he finished and he actually looked like he wanted to rip apart anyone who had thought Xuan was not acceptable.

Ying Xuan gently dislodged her hands from his and signed, 'It's okay Jingyu. I'm just glad that our generation doesn't see things this way anymore. And I don't need some pedestal in the society. I'm more than happy to have you by my side.'

Wei Jingyu blinked a few times before he ran his hands through his hair and mumbled something, before grabbing Xuan's hand and saying, "Let's go."

Xuan chuckled to herself as she was pretty sure she had seen a faint blush creep onto his cheeks, but chose not to embarrass him as they strolled in the grounds for some time.

The two walked back to the girls' dorms when Ying Xuan let out an enormous yawn. Jingyu stopped at the gate of their dorms and quickly checking to see if anyone was there, planted a quick peck on Xuan's cheek.

"I'm going to miss you so much." he said, lips drooping. Xuan pinched his cheeks and signed, 'It's only three weeks, and we'll call everyday. Plus, you're going to forget everything about me as soon as you land in hawai.'

Wei Jingyu rolled his eyes as he chuckled. "Not a chance." he replied and then added, "Good night."

Xuan also gave him a kiss on the cheek and signed, 'Good night. Let's go to another one of those racing dates when we get back.' Jingyu chucked and said as Xuan turned to go, "You got it."
