Chapter 23 - Story Time!

There was once a small, gentle girl. She had long, silky hair that made its way to a gentle curl. The sun was shining over the field of quiet wild flowers. The breeze drifted the wind and carried the sweet scent over the lake. As the light hit it, the lake shimmered. Dragonflies, butterflies, and songbirds flew on that same breeze. One butterfly, blue and kind, landed on the little girl's nose. The sweet little girl giggled and it flew away. She danced in the fields of flowers, picking a few and adding to her basket held in the crook of her elbow. Skipping through, she whistled to the birds and they flew around her with joy. She then came to the edge of the glistening lake and played with the ducks in the soft, warm water. She took her shoes off and felt the squishy sand between her toes. The edges of her dress dripped with water. She was alone, but comforted by the quiet little animals. Then, a big man came. He grabbed her and her basket. He took her away. She tried to fight back, punching, kicking, biting, but the man did not let go. His grip tightened every time she did that. It hurt her. She then tried to pretend to pass out. He didn't care. He dragged her along.

Eventually, they ended up in this dark, room. The walls were made of withered wood. Holes leaked in enough light to look around. She couldn't find her flowers. She looked all over and couldn't find them. She then heard menacing footsteps. They got louder, louded, louder, until they stopped. The door creaked open as a tall, muscular man in a soldier's uniform smirked infront of her. He kneeled down to her level. She was on her knees. His dirty finger lifted her chin for her to look at him. She scoffed and turned her head away. He was angry now, he grabbed her face and forced her to look at him. He praised her beauty and gentleness.

His exact words were, "My dear, your beauty shines in even the darkest places. I shall have it for my own."

Meanwhile, her mother, filled with rage, sets out in search for her daughter. A dark, cold winter fell upon the land as if even it missed her sweet beauty. Months passed. Then a year had left. On a stormy, cold day, her mother found her. They escaped and her mother healed her with magic. As soon as the girl felt better The mother tried to get the man arrested for his crimes, but, as always, they never suspected a guard to do this. In the end, he was pleaded not guilty.

Later, the mother decided to rid the world of the king and queen. Not only were they not properly watching the kingdom, they also set unfair taxes and spent those taxes on things for themselves instead of the kingdom. We were all starved because they never imported food. We had nothing to keep us warm because there was a coal shortage, not to mention they never imported firewood. The rulers were never caring for the kingdom. So, she cursed them. She cursed them to death.
