The "Black Mud" covering the world did not participate in the war; they were well aware of their servant status and were proud of it.
Their chanting and murmuring formed a repulsive background noise, and in the absolute darkness, a noisy commotion gradually arose.
Numerous divine entities, billions of high-level species, those wandering mysterious giant beasts... some roamed alone, others traveled in packs.
They launched a reckless charge, most souls were resolute, but many were confused.
Why not escape?
And why not obediently retreat into the box and wait for the masters to pass by?
Afraid the box might be crushed? Unable to accept becoming property? Unable to endure humiliation?
Or perhaps all of the above.
