In Secret Phoenix City's Lower City District, three figures stood atop the roof of a building slated for demolition. The night breeze, laden with dust and the faint stench of sewage, blew in from the city area sparsely lit in the distance, carrying with it the children's chants echoing from the street below.
The lyrics were full of childlike whimsy, although the tape seemed somewhat old, occasionally jerking and sputtering.
On the third loop of the nursery rhyme, Tang Qi's companion, the agent codenamed "Stone-Eyed", slightly turned his head. A grave expression emerged in his eyes beneath the mask as he gestured to Tang Qi and another bald man named Andy.
"Here it comes!"
