Ji Anning had just lifted her foot when she heard Sister Wu's instructions. She paused for a moment before nodding lightly.
"Oh."
She took another step forward and walked into the bathroom.
Standing in front of the sink, Ji Anning was still a bit distracted. She took several deep breaths, first turning on the faucet and splashing cold water on her face.
Clear your mind, clear your mind, Ji Anning, clear your mind. You can't be soft-hearted. She might still be plotting her own benefits, dreaming big dreams.
Not until her face felt a bit numb did she start brushing her teeth.
After a simple wash, her face wet, she didn't use the towel, just wiped it with her hand. Then she turned around and opened the bathroom door.
"Miss Anning won't accept it, and even if I say something, it won't work. Besides, the Young Master would surely be furious if he knew."
Outside came Sister Wu's voice, seemingly just in the room, presumably on the phone with someone.
