Panic gripped Hendrick, struggling to remain calm as several horns honked, clearly directed at him.
Metthew was in the passenger seat behind him, while he was in the driver's seat.
"Hold on, don't leave Dad, please. I can't bear to lose my son a second time," Hendrick whispered, his voice choked with panic.
His worry continued to build. Hendrick checked his son's condition several times, but the more he looked, the more the fear of losing him grew.

Upon arriving at the emergency room, Hendrick quickly called the doctor and staff there to help him move his son to the hospital gurney.
"Please, please check on my son," Hendrick pleaded, a pleading response from the hospital staff.
Hendrick closed his eyes for a moment, leaning against the wall for support to prevent himself from falling.
His body felt utterly weak. It felt like the world was playing tricks on him.
