Joseph carried Aria through the entrance hall, all the way towards the North tower. He started to hover a feet above the ground at the foot of the stairs of the North tower and started to slowly ascend the stairs. He could have flown through the centre of the spiral staircase, how he and Aria were in the habit of usually doing, but it would have taken a lot less time, and Joseph wanted to spend as much time with Aria as possible.
Joseph shook his head to pull his gaze away from Aria's face, that's right, he had decided that he did not deserve to love her after all that she had had to go through because of his selfishness. But, Joseph let out a long sigh as his eyes traveled back to Aria's face and rested on her closed eyelids. Try all he might, and he had tried, God he had tried during all that time Aria had spent in the recovery ward, but he could not bring herself to stop loving Aria.
Therefore he had decided to do the only thing he seemed capable of doing, loving Aria from afar. Joseph had decided to continue to love Aria with all his heart, but he wasn't going to ask her to love hin back. He would continue to watch over her from afar, try to protect her the best he could "And do whatever she asks me to do, without any questions or hesitation." Joesph mumbled as he opened the door to Aria's room and laid her on her bed.
He stared silently for a few minutes at the sleeping figure, unable to turn his eyes from Aria's rosy lips. Joseph gulped as his mind threw an array of images towards him, all of which required him to be a lot closer than he was to Aria's lips. "Oh my god! How much of a pervert am I?" Joseph mumbled as his little member down below twitched in his pants.
Joesph sighed and started to get up, cursing his mind, when a thought made him turn around.
Joseph had remembered all the reasons why he shouldn't be around Aria, especially when she didn't have her walls up, and was getting up to leave. He was reliving that horrible night and the subsequent weeks in his mind when a phrase in particular had popped into his head and made him turn around to stare at Aria. The phrase belonged to her only, it had been said by her in her lengthy speech that night when she had forced him to talk to her for the first time after waking up.
"That's right. I am a coward." Joesph muttered, looking at her face but the next instant he shook his head and frowned. That was not what his mind had found weird. Joseph scrunched his brows as he tried to remember Aria's complete sentence. The words came back to him after a minute, and they seemed to hit Joseph physically in the back of his head. The realisation came with such a force that Joseph actually staggered and had to catch hold of Aria's bedside table to steady himself.
As he grabbed the table, he accidentally knocked over the water jug kept there which wobbled and then fell on the table making enough noise to rouse Aria from her sleep.
