Chapter 1 - PROLOGUE

My world changed. Slowly, but surely. One by one the lights of happiness went out, leaving scars that would not easily heal.

"Mom! Mommy's head is bleeding! Wake up, Mom! Somebody, help us!"

That panic in my voice still echoes clearly, like a sound that never ends. Now all that remains is Mommy's name, beautifully engraved on cold granite. Years passed and the pain did lessen, but the emptiness stayed.

On my eighteenth birthday, Daddy replaced my personal bodyguard. A tall, handsome man—about one hundred eighty centimeters—who didn't look like an ordinary bodyguard at all. Days went by, until Daddy decided to marry his girlfriend. In that moment I felt—a new disaster was ready to steal my happiness again.

And I was right. Bit by bit, what I called happiness slipped away along with the people I loved. Including "him"—someone who once stole my heart, then left behind its fragile pieces. Now, unexpectedly, he has returned to my life.

Everything felt painful, as if my heart were being stabbed in the same place over and over. Yet in those darkest moments, "he" was always there. His presence healed the wounds, made me brave enough to fall in love again, and brought color to my bleak days.

But that happiness never lasted long. The question now is: will my life always end in loss, or is fate actually guiding me toward a love I ought not to have?
