"But it's still impossible." Su Jiuyi retorted.
"The observer sees more clearly than the participant." Qi Jingren said.
"Not talking to you, I'm hanging up." Su Jiuyi said and really hung up the phone.
Hearing the "beep beep" sound from the phone, Qi Jingren shrugged, put the phone away, and sat on the sofa hugging her knees, her face illuminated by shifting shadows.
"Did they hang up on you?" Qin Shaobai asked lazily, with his legs crossed, holding a drink, turning his head to look at her.
The light from the TV screen fluctuated slightly, making Qi Jingren's silhouette appear bright and dark; her pure and pretty profile increasingly stirred a gentle feeling in Qin Shaobai's eyes.
On the giant TV screen, a ferocious female ghost was chasing the protagonist, amid deafening screams.
Qin Shaobai reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind the girl's ear. They were so close that he could embrace her just by opening his arms.
"Jingren." His tone was more serious than ever.
