The tiny doll girl, clothed in the little pajamas Big Sister had personally made for her a few days prior, sat with her silver hair sprawling, her small feet gently swinging in midair, her head bobbing up and down continuously—a clear sign she was struggling to stay awake. Such a sight of Mercury Lamp left me stunned: she looked just like a little girl trying to fend off sleep, waiting late at night for her father to come home from work.
At that moment, I truly wanted to whip out my camera to capture this scene, to tease her with it in a couple of days—the one who always seems so capable. But the thought only flashed through my mind before being cast to the winds. It wasn't because I had suddenly grown a conscience, but rather... the little doll had already pounced on me like lightning, biting my head in less than half a second. Had she recently got a new spring or gearbox or something?
