After returning to King's Landing, Guding was summoned by Lord Ed for questioning.
Of course, Guding would not admit to capturing the giant dragon himself. He only said he had some personal business that took him away from King's Landing for a while and was unaware of the events on the Essos Continent.
Ed couldn't determine whether Guding's words were true or false, so he could only tell Guding about the current situation and subtly expressed that if a mage could help King's Landing through the crisis, they would be handsomely rewarded.
Guding only suggested recruiting mages with a generous payment and said nothing more.
Under Ed's leadership, the mage recruitment notice was quickly released.
The amount offered was truly enticing, which also attracted quite a few mages to arrive at King's Landing.
Taking advantage of this busy period for Ed and others, Guding went to Oldtown alone.
The name "Oldtown" sounds like a rundown little town, but in reality, it's nothing like that.
