"Great, that was much better this time!" After nearly thirty takes, Adrian finally called for a stop, indicating that this scene was good to go.
Joaquin and Rachel both breathed a sigh of relief on set, Rachel especially. This had been the most takes since the filming of "Walk the Line" began. Joaquin was fine, as his previous performances had been excellent, so this mishap wasn't a big deal. But Rachel had just started filming less than two days ago, and knowing how well things had progressed before added a lot more pressure on her.
"Take a ten-minute break." After examining these takes carefully behind the monitor, Adrian immediately announced this.
Then, he patted Joaquin with a few compliments and encouraged each of the assistants before approaching the somewhat dazed Rachel McAdams: "Are you okay, Rachel?"
