In some ways, filmmaking is a lot like playing basketball. Often you can see a basketball team being led to victory by a star player in top form. The same is true for film, where a mediocre script becomes a classic through the vision of an outstanding director or a mediocre movie gains a lot of popularity due to a star's brilliant performance.
But does that mean the contributions of non-star players can be ignored? Without them setting screens, assisting, and defending, could he single-handedly defeat the entire opposing team? It's the same with movies, without those makeup artists, lighting technicians, and editors working tirelessly behind the scenes, even the biggest directors and actors couldn't complete a film.
