Releasing the song as a movie theme was an even better promotion for Britney and "She's All That." Britney had long declared she would be releasing a single commemorating her high school career before going off to college, and although it didn't get released due to 9/11, it had already captured the attention of most of her fans. The quality of the song was also quite excellent; it had been heralded as a school anthem in my previous life, with many high schools playing it at their graduation dances, perfectly concluding her image as a pure idol.
Then, with the gimmick of a superstar idol singing the theme song, "She's All That" made a strong debut. Combined with a story that wasn't clichéd and notable performances from Keira and Ledger—especially Keira, whose quirky initial appearance fit her perfectly in Adrian's view, as she seemed to be playing herself occasionally outshining Ledger.
