Richard found out that he is now a student of Versatile Magic Academy.
It's been three years since the incident. Now Richard is 15 years old.
His father is the Protectorate of the Byju city.
Richards full name is Richard White.
White family is a small sized family within the country. But it's a number one family in the Byju city.
And head of the White family holds the Protectorate position for Byju City.
Byju city is located in South of the country. Near the ocean.
White family members are large in number and usually there is fight for the resources and positions.
'Most probably I must had been a victim of such a plot' thought Richard.
Although Richard doesn't remember exactly how he was targeted, but he is sure that after some analysing of that situation he can find out who targeted him.
He wants to make things clear first and then take it from there.
The academy is divided in various departments and each department is vast and has a lot of students.
Richard is still in initial department.
Initial department is where all the students are enrolled into before transferring to various other departments.
In initial department, students select which magic they are good at and in which department they are interested.
And after gaining basic knowledge about various departments, they goes to the department they selected.
Richard had that incident when he was about to transfer in the department of his choosing.
The students of his age are long gone in their respective departments.
Now Richard is the only one left of his age in the initial department.
His current class fellows are atleast three years younger than him.
Sometimes they make fun of him and sometimes they feel pity for him.
Versatile academy focuses on various major magics. Such as light, darkness, earth, water, wind, metal, fire, life, death and space.
These ten major magics are taught at the ten departments of the Versatile Magic Academy.
Versatile Magic Academy is famous for it's versatility. It doesn't leave out any magic and focuses equal amount of attention on them.
In each department there are various sub departments, in each sub department the magic they focus on is the derivative of their main department.
For example in water department, there is an ice sub department. In earth department, there is gravity sub department.
Richard is still in the initial department, where students are referred as initiates.
Initiates are the starting point for every wizard that starts traveling on the path of magic.
The amount of time each student spends as initiate is different. Students who started training early in their families doesn't spend much time in initial department.
On the contrary, students who are not from the good background are encouraged to spend more time as initiates.
This way they can make their foundations more stable. After all sometimes haste makes waste.
'First I have to try out some magic. And find out what are my strong points and weakness. Which magic is the most suited for me. According to the healer my soul has been strengthened. So I should check out which magic requires a strong soul. Most probably it should be life magic and death magic.'
Richard was still on the bed in the healing room. He was thinking about which department he should choose.
Casper has left sometime ago. After seeing that Richard was resting, he left him undisturbed and left for doing his duties.
Learning process has its own risks. Magic can be dangerous if not done methodically and with proper safety measures.
Although Versatile Magic Academy has a history of thousands of years and has proper procedures for learning the magic, still there are bound to happen some accidents.
So, healers are usually busy doing their jobs.
In Versatile Magic Academy the departments are divided according to the type of magic and not the profession.
So, healers are usually experts in life magic and death magic.
There are academies in the country who teaches according to professions.
But Versatile Magic Academy founder believed that to achieve the greatness, to achieve the ultimate strength, to be the strongest.....one should not take magics separately but study and learn them together.
So, in Versatile Magic Academy, the students interact a lot within departments.
It's like that they pay attention to one department in particular untill they have gained some level of mastery then they take the classes in other departments which are suited to them.
For example, an artifact maker uses both the fire magic and metal magic. So, students do take classes in other departments also, but they major in only a few departments. Rest are the subsidiary departments for them.
White family of Byju city was used to known for their mastery in space magic. But with time their fame has degraded. Their talents in space magic have become less in numbers.
Space magic is complex and hard. It's not like other magics where you can learn with enough hard work. Space magic needs a good perception and affinity with space.
White family ancestors were known for their masteries in space magic. But in the present time, the White family is not known for space magic anymore.
Descendents of White family do not show talents for space magic anymore. They have gone for other magics.
This was one of the main reasons why Richard was admitted to the Versatile Magic Academy by his father.
