Summer Ford's heart skipped a beat. She looked at him calmly and asked tentatively, "What did you say?"
"Such things are normal in large families, but it won't happen to me." Ethan Laurent tightened his grip on her hand and suddenly pulled her closer to his side.
With one hand around her waist, perhaps seeing her unease, he uttered two words calmly, "Don't worry!"
Summer was slightly stunned, her chest warmed, but she responded nonchalantly, "I wasn't worried."
"Let's eat first." Ethan just smiled faintly, released her hand, pressed her to sit down beside him, and they quietly started having their meal together.
They quickly solved the issue of lunch, and it was already past one o'clock when they left.
Summer's phone rang a few more times in between, but because she thought she had silenced it, she didn't hear it.
