Ethan Laurent stiffly turned his gaze aside, feeling somewhat restless.
He wasn't entirely indifferent to Raine Sullivan; though he treated her coldly, he still remembered the pain she endured when she had vision problems as a child, all because of him.
He just couldn't offer her any emotional hope.
"Let me take you home. There are more people there to look after you." He supported her, trying to lead her away, when suddenly Raine tiptoed up, wrapping her arms around his neck, "I won't go back! I won't go back! You'll be gone once I'm there!"
People intoxicated by alcohol often don't even know what they're doing, and Raine was exactly like that now.
In the past, no matter how many thoughts she had about Ethan Laurent, she'd have been restrained by her status, and certainly wouldn't have acted this freely.
"Don't make a fuss. You know I don't like women who are troublesome." Ethan Laurent frowned slightly, prying her hands away and continued to lead her outside.
