Summer Ford opened the car door and got out, followed by Ethan Laurent.
"What's wrong?" Summer paused her steps and looked at him, bewildered.
"Together." Ethan simply tossed out the word and walked ahead of her into the mall.
He seemed to be there to shop as well, heading straight for the luxury section.
Summer awkwardly followed behind him, watching him select gifts at the counter, her expression slightly baffled.
Early in the morning, after a phone call, both of them had come to the mall, and both were there to choose gifts.

The item Ethan was looking at was a ladies' watch, a Cartier, a top-tier luxury, exquisitely beautiful—something a poor student like Summer could never afford.
"I want to look elsewhere." Summer didn't have many possessions; her wallet was perpetually empty. As she came beside him, she subtly tugged at his sleeve.
