"Oh calm your horses!" Marry whipped her head towards the kitchen crew irritation grinding her teeth."It's not like I want them remade. Its the customer for fucks sake!"
Misty couldnt help but cringe a bit at the explicit word. She had been working on her language so hearing it all of a sudden irked her more than she expected. She set her tray in the window and glanced at Marry who had crossed her arms and was very loudly tapping, more like stomping, her foot on the tile. She hadn't known the woman for long but she was. . . Spunky to say the least.
"What?" Marry spat at her having caught her stare.
Misty smiled and motioned to Marrys hair. She had braided a strand before pulling it into a very slick bun. There wasnt a bump in sight. "Your hair is very nice today Marry. I dont think I could ever get mine to do that."
The shocked look on her face told Misty she had been expecting something else. "Uh...thanks. If you got up earlier you'd have time to something with it."
"You're so right." Misty chuckled touching a strand of beach blond hair from her messy ponytail. "I stay up way to late to want to get up ten minutes before I have to leave."
The two women smiled at eachother appreciating that small interaction. That's how thier work days went on with small interactions some kind, some funny, until they grew to become close friends.
"Why didn't this one work out?" Misty asked one night. Marry was sitting on the couch braiding her hair while she sat on the floor. It was Girls night so both had a glass of wine beside them.
"He was too..." Marry thought about her next words trying to be nice. Nice wasn't her strong suit though. "Fuck it, he was arrogant, fat, and rude. He didnt even pay for the meal!"
Misty laughed earning a smack on the head with a brush. "Ow!" She groaned still laughing.
"Didn't I just tell you not to move? Plus he was just a pig tried feeling me up all night."
Misty stifled her laughter with a smirk. "He probably thought he was going to get some," that earned her another wack on the head. "OK stop, that's starting to hurt ...but did he get some?"
"Sorry" Marry glanced at the brush before actually brushing Misty's hair. "Well...the more I drank the more appealing he looked. He wasnt so bad in bed with the lights off."
Misty turned to look at her. "Didn't you say he was a pig?"
"Well he is a giver in the bed." Marry smirked earning a shocked "Marry!!" from Misty.
A few years passed and Marry ended up Marrying that Pig she had described that night.
Misty stood as the maid of honor tears in her eyes and a glass of wine held high. "I wish you both the best. I sincerely hope you continue to be a pig at dinner and a giver in bed!"
Laughter erupted and they all drank thier drinks. Marry stood from her chair to give her a teary hug. "I cannot belive you said that!" She laughed with the biggest smile on her face.
Misty smiled at Rick as he joined his wife in front of her. Shaking his head with a huge smile. "I can't belive you said I was a pig!"
Marry gave his cheek and sympathize patt. "Served you right for not paying for dinner."
Misty had never really found the right guy but she was happy as she watched her friend fall in love, get married, and then have two babies. How many years had passed since they'd met? She didn't even want to think about it. One day Misty wasn't thinking. She wasn't watching and she crossed a busy street in the middle of the night and was killed in a hit and run. No one knows who did it and her best friend was devastated.
