"Are you talking bad about me?" Sylvan Cheney warily stared at Kade Yuvan.
Kade was taken aback at first, then coaxed, "No, no, how would I dare talk bad about you, boss."
He picked up the trench coat Sylvan had dropped on the ground and placed it over Jasmine Yale's arm. "It's windy outside."
"Let him get some fresh air to sober up," Jasmine looked annoyed at the drunk man beside her.
As she looked at him, he looked up at her too.
They locked eyes, and Jasmine felt increasingly helpless.
Sylvan frowned, "What are you talking about? Where's the booze?"
"Sylvan Cheney!" Jasmine raised her voice, clearly displeased, "Can you drink a little less from now on? Is it so much fun to drink? You're harming yourself and others!"
Kade was startled; it was the first time he'd seen Jasmine lose her temper.
"Are you lecturing me?" Sylvan challenged.
"Yes, I'm lecturing you, so what, are you going to lecture me back? Sylvan Cheney, people like you, I can't stand, so unambitious."
