Returning to the base, Ling Chen didn't stop to rest and went straight to the main control room, ready to hand over the server to Hu Fei. However, upon arriving at the main control room, he found Hu Fei was not there, and no one knew his whereabouts.
"Where's this guy gone?" Ling Chen muttered to himself, puzzled. Hu Fei almost never went out and stayed at the base all day. Moreover, his phone couldn't be reached, an occurrence Ling Chen had never encountered before.
"Are you sure you don't know where he went?" Ling Chen asked the technical staff in the control room. They worked closely with Hu Fei and should know something. A technician replied, "Mr. Ling, he's been gone for two or three days now. We haven't been able to contact him, and we don't know where he went."
