Liu Quchen followed the young girl, his expression somber as they walked into the dense forest.
Then…
Chuzheng had strung up the man, who dangled and swung back and forth in the air, his face bruised and swollen, looking quite pitiful.
Meanwhile, Chuzheng sat beneath a tree, propping her chin with one hand, watching the man swing to and fro.
When he stopped swinging, she threw stones at him from her hand, prompting him to swing again. The man seemed to want to shout but, for some unknown reason, couldn't make a sound. He could only glare at Chuzheng with a venomous look.
"Miss Fong." Liu Quchen hurried over, his robes fluttering, the cascade of silver strands enhancing his handsome and graceful demeanor.
Chuzheng tossed aside the pebbles in her hand and stood up from the rock she was sitting on.
"Thank you, Miss Fong, for your assistance." Liu Quchen cupped his hands in gratitude.
"Mm."
Chuzheng responded calmly.
