The pain inside his mind and body were at maximum right now. Not only that some type of purple liquid was oozing out his pores. "Lucifer what's happening right now?"
"You are finally stepping into another stage of power. It will hurt but as long as you brace yourself and push forward you'll be alright." This was starting to really hurt for him but he couldn't stop. He knew if he stopped it might do more harm than good.
The liquid and sweat had made his clothes stick to his body. While it started form a pile of this ooze all on the floor. After bout ten minutes the pain almost became unbearable but just right before he thought about quitting it had stopped. It was so fast that he almost didn't even realize that ooze was gone and he felt different.
He had gotten up looking around. Some of the colors in his room seemed a little more brighter. While he felt stronger then usual. He walked to the mirror and saw his body had actually gotten even more toned. His six pack was fully in while he even looked just maybe a year older.
"Did I do it?"
"I believe so, even I have amassed a little more power from you doing so. Not much to consider me a stronger demon then before but definitely more strength then I had."
"Should I try to learn spells from the library? This is kinda what master was talking about in the lessons. I think he said novice is when you should start to get more spells and fighting techniques."
With the book he didn't really need to look for more. And he hadn't only been practicing that one style but also another one called saber sword technique. Which made use of ones on body as a sword. So the next step for him commonly would be to get a spell book. Then hope to understand the author creativity and have enough mana to supply to the spell.
Shadow had literally been locked in his room since the day he had left his master. So when he opened his door and started making his way dow the hall he heard someone yell this "damn maze". To his surprise he saw General Sono with some girl. He would say she was older but he looked old for his age so he just guessed she was somewhere around it.
"General do you need help finding somewhere?"
"Oh prince how good to see you, I am a bit lost every time I come back there's always something new. I'm also not that great at directions. I'm just looking for the throne room?"
"Oh there's no need to call me prince, I'm barely even an option for royal selection. I don't mind leading you to where you need to go. As long as you don't mind of course."
"Are you sure I can see you just had a breakthrough to novice realm. You must be tired plus your royalty even if many don't believe so."
"How'd you know I just broke through?"
"I can smell it on you. That ooze may not have a smell for most people but once you get a little stronger it has a very distinct smell."
"Hmm so he is even respected by the prince of this country?" Lily had said to herself.
"Oh, also is that your daughter?" Shadow looked at lily trying to see if they resembled anything of each other but he couldn't really say they did.
Lily went to introduce herself for a second before Sono had intervened. "It is my attention to be so. So yes this is my daughter introduce yourself Lily.
"My name is Lily Calla. Nice to meet you," she said as she bowed on one knee.
Shadow laughed, which had almost frightened her. Her father had told her of kings and princes that were more savage than demons. Just feeling even belittled made them do things such as kill whole family's.
"I'm sorry if I somehow offended y..."
"No in all my life you were the only two have actually ever bowed to me without being sarcastic. So I thought it was funny. You'll figure out soon how things are around here and when you do I won't hold it against you if you never speak to me again." Shadow said this with a tinge of sadness in his voice. "But anyway I'll show you guys where to go at least to the great hall from there it's a straight shot."
Lily was bit confused on why he would say something like that. When she looked back up at Sono she had realized he had look of pity stuck to his face. She realized asking any questions might be bad right now.
They had finally made it to the Great Hall. Shadow took his leave before properly giving his goodbyes to them.
"Hey uh Sono, I mean father?"
"You can call me what you want." He said with a smile.
"Is he not a real prince?"
Sono smile went away quick than it had appeared. "He is technically a prince it just that he is in a bad situation."
"How so?"
"Since you'll find out somehow I want it at least to be correct. His father was a general captured by our kingdom forces to serve it. They were only able to capture them because he made a deal to save the kingdom he served. Our queen takes powerful individuals and mates with them to secure powerful offspring. A lot of them just become nobles made to serve the royals if they aren't strong enough to her standard. Others become adventurers or other things if they aren't strong at all. The thing is they are usually are celebrated by being picked by her highness. Since his father in a sense was just a slave they regard him as such. He was on the way to become to powerful for her to hold so she killed him and trapped his son. His siblings are most likely scared that he'll be as powerful as his father which would give him rights to the throne. In conclusion he is a slave who has rights but he is still treated as such. It's very sad to see because his father was very honorable man who has saved my life many of times. I wouldn't be surprised to see that boy grow up even stronger than his father but as of now push all that out of your head the throne room is up ahead."
