Pastor Silas frowned.
"How do you mean... entered him?"
Mrs. Naomi took a long, shaky breath before answering.
"Everyone who is genuinely called by God enters into a covenant with Him."
Her voice was calm, almost reverent.
"And with every covenant comes boundaries that must not be crossed. There is often a particular sin that, if embraced without repentance, endangers the anointing upon that person's life."
The congregation listened intently.
"From the moment we identified his calling, we knew there was one thing he was never meant to do."
She slowly turned her gaze towards me.
"Fornication."
The word struck me like a hammer.
"So we planted the desire for Heaven in his heart."
Her voice grew steadier.
"We nurtured the thought. We strengthened the attraction. We carefully guarded both of them until the moment finally came."
She paused, swallowing hard.
"When they committed the act...the door we had been waiting for was opened."
The sanctuary fell into a tense silence.
