Chapter 127 - Magic the Gathering Part 1

-Unknown Plane-

.

A group of townsfolk and guards ran for their lives to an altar. They were lead by a young teen in white armor. She was only 12 years old but had fought against the Phyrexians for the last few years. One day out of the blue, she claimed to hear a voice that gave her a set of armor and a spear. Her brown hair drenched in blood and oil. Turning it black for the most part. Far back, way behind them were countless members of their countryfolk.

"Are you sure this is wise? We can still keep going further to the outer reaches." Her second in command said. He was from the same "prison" she was from. Almost grew up with her in childhood. Most of those that fought with her, were the same way. "Come on Elspeth!"

"I owe everything to my patron. We all do." Elspeth said gravely. Something inside was telling her a big event was about to happen. The constant rebellion was causing problems for the Wardens. They were taking everything seriously after a large power reactor was destroyed last month. "Old lady Ali said it was our protector. I am counting on it being true. Run away if you like."

Old Lady Ali was an Avatar of Alita. She had arrived since the time of Azul receiving the Quest. As well as Lluvia tweaking things. Slowing moving through the planes setting things in real-time as well as from their Operator position. Weaving the place in history for Azul.

"We are with you. Just.. if you are wrong." The others had a grave look on their faces.

"Then I am wrong." Elspeth sped up to make it to the Altar. "

The Altar was devasted but still able to be entered. Elspeth and her team entered. The others waited outside taking a break. It was well needed after running for so long.

Inside was a stone statue of twisted design. A dragon (Bahamut) embraced by a large Titan (Obelisk). Above overhead, a large dragon that seemed endless. All three came to life. Voice of Lettie and Azul coming out. The Millineum Necklace glowing and the Millienuem eye as well. Both items disappeared after shining light in the room.

The forces outside kneeling in prayer. Those inside doing the same. To the side, a Rift opened. Jaina walked in her new robes. She was an elf. So were the others that walked through with her. A few more opened up.

"Easy now child." Azul looked at Elspeth. "Haa, it is time to get ready." Standing up he flexed his magic breathing energy into her and those behind in wait. "Defintely happy for it being you. One of my favorites."

"Woom," white pure mana flowed onto Elspeth. Followed by pure colorless mana. The power from his Ogre Battle System giving her the power of a Legion Commander.

"Woom," red and black mana flowed around Azul as the Titan. The power of Flame fist igniting across the room. Blue and green mana entering the dragon. Misty fist encircling slowly around Bahamut. Dragon power feeding the flames. Devil power causing Misty fist to darken. Anima and Ariel grabbed hold boosting the power. They would remain almost active as agreed upon before and the reason why he had them practice so hard. Inferna and several fire Djins boosted his right arm.

The power about interchanging as he checked to make sure everything was ok to go. Bahamut and Obelisk fusing back, once the coast was clear.

Turning human, Azul stared at them. "What, never seen a Devil/Dragon turn human?" They shook their heads no. "Ah well okay. Azul Lunastrider. Power of devil's, dragon, ki, magic, and bunch of other stuff. Time to save this plane hopefully."

"A devil to help. Elspeth we should just leave."

"You may go. I will fight with this power he gave me." Turning she looked at her countrymen. "Leave through the gateway if you must. Those who stay, come with me." She turned and looked back to Azul. "My.. Guardian... By your leave." With a salute, she stepped in tow as they walked out the temple.

"Mental Cleansing Group Heal!" Casting both spells on the people outside then charged into the front lines. "Be careful out there." Flame Fist strikingly fast in a blur. Any ally in five feet received healing from his left.

"Splat!" Azul's foot came down trampling the first dark infested creatures. They were many. An unfeeling creature besides all-consuming in a way. A roar catching his attention to the left.

"Raaaawwr," with a gallop, out came a mechanical rhino with two heads. Both horns ramming into friend and foe alike. "Raaaawwr," it bellowed again as it jumped at the advance units that got in the way. It reared up on the back legs in an instant. Mana swirling before it stopped down in fury.

"Boom!" A blast of force knocking all near it down. Churned flesh could be seen inside. Fuel to power the creature in the way. The twisted technology of the traitor Users at work.

"You are mine!" With a use of Dash, Azul ran through the forces. Slashing quickly as he did so. Right as he made it to the beast, it's mouth open revealing black tentacles that ate at the light. Fresh faces in the in lay of its mouth as flesh was peeled away. 'Concussive shot!' Azul fired directly inside.

"Kaaabooommm!" The blast was more powerful than before. Fueled with magic to rip the creature asunder. As the parts rained down, the were lifted by biotic energy. Pooling above to configure a gateway by Azul.

'Must kill more! Many More!' Azul's eyes burned red with a purple tint. Channeling the power of Khorne and Tzeentch to work quickly. "There!" Phyrexian Bloodstocks were up ahead. The monster even in death, was able to kill another. Black mana consuming the life force of anyone close by. "You ready?"

"Fwoosh!" Jaina appeared hands glowing in Arcane might. The power she had at the ready was nothing compared to what she could release. But to many allies were near by.

"Put the barrier up.. my student." Her voice came out somewhat teasing. Azul nodded. 'Still him in there. That is good. Afraid the madness of these things would turn him. Seeing the Biotic Shielding divide the battlefield, Jaina let loose. "Mana Burst!"

Raw arcane energy travelled out in waves. Ripping apart the battlefield. Phyrexian creatures rose up suspended slightly. Another wave smashed into the creatures, sending them higher into the air every time. Metal separating from remaining flesh due to magical force.

As he held the Biotic Shielding to divide the battlefield, Azul seperated into two. The other completely encompassed in silver cosmos armor, appeared behind Jaina. He placed his arms on her back boosting her power output. As well as providing a much larger perception of who could be saved.

3 Phyrexian Plaguelords came up. The twisted things were more artifact than living. The lights along the arms, chest and head lit it up. The staffs started to pulse in power, but not for long.

"Bye bye!" Lettie had finished enchanting her spells. Her Millenium ring created a giant eye in the sky. "Come to mama!" Her eyes flared in cruelty as the magic was stolen from the Plaguelords. As well as the minds of the creatures. 'So many secrets. Makes it easier for the infiltration teams now. That bitch better not be late.'

"Eeeekkk!" The Phyrexian Plaguelords gave out an almost human scream. But more along the lines of flayed cats.

'Still causing me to become Mana Drunk!' Jaina thought to Azul. 'You are refining even now before sending it trough me.'

'Of course, I am. I am not letting you get fuckled from this stuff.' Azul thought back. 'We have the magic power to decimate. So let's decimate. The people who can be safe are getting saved. I am not having you turn into some kind of Phyrexian sympathizer or some other crazy thing while we are here.'

'Oh please.. I have spent more time here than you.' Jaina stared into Azul's eyes down below. He just gave her a grin. 'Ok.. yes you were here longer but you were sleeping. Lazy dragon.'

'To be fair..' Azul fired a wave of Mass Heal amongst the troops. Healing them in an instant. '..this quest is not a good one. And we were never suppose to have to come here. Somebody else mess. Nut nooo.. the System wanted us involved. As well as Jane. Can not be good for us really.'

"Raaaaah!" Jaina gave a yell as an Arcane Barrage fired out across the plane. She was casting the entire she was sending out the waves to the forces, talking to Azul and scanning for survivors with his help. A very powerful Archmage with the help of a Pather was dangerous as hell. 'I suppose so. But you will like it a few places. Once we finish everything. I want to take you to Zendikar. It has change way more than you would think.'

'Very well.' Azul focused on the Gate he had building. 'it is finally done.'

The Gate as he was calling it, was a Mass Effect Relay. Just smaller. Mucher smaller and could let organic matter go through it without ripping it apart or causing problems. Link to his mind as well as his Nether World.

"Bwooom!" A blue white line shined as it started.

"Come Forth!" Azul Poured mana through it. Several cards appeared in front of him in an instant. Royal Paladins from Cardfight Vanguard. "King of Knights Alfred, lead the charge!"

"As the Overlord decrees!" A white armored knight on a horse came out of his Nether World Mass Effect Relay. Several other Royal Paladins following after. Blaster Blader (Ahmes), Demon Slaying Knight-Lohengrin, Solitary Knight- Gancelot, Flash Shield- Iseult, Little Sage- Marron, Covenant Knight-Randolf as well. "For the people!"

They charged attacking in full force. Regulars of the forces moving in as well. Already gaining the first few levels from the field of killing. The Biotic shield was dropped to allow them to go out and meet the foe. Jaina turned and started focus firing on the bigger threats.

"I will take care of the one s further away!" Lettie yelled. She head East towards a large force that was gathering. Azul that was with Jaina moved away and head off with her. "Glad you are coming with, I want to show you some things."

"Like what?" Azul arched an eyebrow at her.

The battle kicked up higher. The more the forces fought, the stronger Azul became. The power of a Pather and the Everchosen growing in tandem with one another. It was going to be a long day.

.

-Aftermath-

.

"Such twisted machines." Jaina said looking out. Her mages continued to deconstruct them. The Royal paladins securing the citizens moving them towards the temple for treatment. "I hope the next part work as he needs it to."

"Bwoom!" A Rift opened up. Several sisters of battle walked out. Led by Ashley. Flamethrowers lit and at the ready. The flames burning a holy gold. The more they moved out, the brighter it shined.

"Is everything ready?" Ashley asked. She received a nod from Jaina. Hands raised high, Ashley gave the order. It echoed all across the 1st sphere where they waged battle. "Activate the beacons!" A gold light fired up. Piercing into the sky in an instant.

Across the Plane on the various other locations, the same thing happen. None brighter than the 4th sphere. it held the most population. And held the most prayers for salvation. The 9th plane was currently shielded. For this is where the seat of Yawgmoth resided, the area held his power.

"What is happening?" Elspeth felt the energy wash over her. The same as the others. Heartache, pain, and suffering left them. The lights burned brighter. The magic unbelievably powerful. Burning towards the 9th sphere. "It's eroding away." Her voice drifted away in shock.

Several Rifts opened as white silhouette people formed. The souls of those burning away across the other spheres. With each step, they became real. The soldiers noticed it was the kinsmen they had lost over the years. Now reborn as members of the Royal Paladin Clan.

"Boom!" An explosion rang out. The spheres from 2nd to 8th were destroyed. The resulting energy was used to reshape the 1st sphere. as well as pierced the protective barrier of the 9th.

"So much to do here." Azul stepped forward. The gateway to the 9th sphere was right there, but he held back from entering. Something was wrong. 7 World shards formed. But they were smaller than normal. The information poured into his head quickly enough. 'The Users have twisted things so much, as well as feed on the Plane's power itself. No wonder this quest is so shitty.'

The gateway closed. Jaina and her forces secured the area as others moved out to keep the people calm. Lettie and her forces flew in the sky keeping watch.

"Here is the report we received from Innistrad." Ashley passed over the info. "Jane has run into Eldrazi there. Things are already worse since you arrived. Time is no longer slowed in various places. As if.."

"As if nothing." Azul shook his head in dismay. "I was the last User to come here. Several others are already on various quests to prevent this type of thing. It is happening in several other Worlds that have multiple layers of existence. Or multiple dimensions. I do not want to deal with this, but I have to. So much has been spent, so many committed forces and it still may not be enough."

"My lord." Elspeth walked up ith a few people. A man and a woman bearing a striking resemblance to her stood to her left. "I know this may not be the right time, but these are my siblings."

"Thump!" The man and woman prostrated on the ground. Grabbing Elspeth to try to get her to as well. She shook them off and stood tall.

"Beg if it makes you feel better. But I will not. He does ot want us to be servants." Her voice was strong as she spoke. Almost commanding towards them. "What must we do to liberate ourselves of these monstrosities?"

"I will answer that." Hilda appeared on the spot. One moment a ball of light was there, then she was. "We can talk while every eats a meal. Energy will be needed for what comes next."

Azul went over all the battle information. Connected the countless others. Phyrexians and Eldrazi working togethor was ridiculous. To win the fight here would cause massive casualties. he was glad the overall forces were not deployed here.

'Another unwinnable battle.' Azul thought went to a dark place. A win was available, at a deep cost. It would be atrocities he used to commit, however. He gathered all the psychic residue from the area. As well as the deeper biotic strands from the reset of the place. All fuel for the next actions he would have to do. 'There we go. I need my Nether World open!'

System: Nether World is not connected to Magic the Gathering. A small Plane is forming within.

A dark smile formed on Azul's face. A few forces in the Nether World prepped a wave of starfighters. Future technology was going to punch in level certain areas. If the Will of the World got in the way, then well, things won't matter much longer anyway.

System: Updating quest... Purify Souls. Souls are tainted and need to be cleaned. User must cleanse the area allow the others to fight. Divvying details to Companions and Followers now.

"Dammit!" Azul cursed. It seems the System did not want him to commit major atrocities to win. Or better yet, for him to take an easy victory in the area. 'Then again, I am suppose to be more peaceful...'

Trickster: That you are. But it is because you are a Pather that this must happen. A lot of information will come to you if you do Azul.

'Alright, well how about you just explain. no riddles and whatnot.' Azul thought back through the link. Surprised that it did not hurt in the slightest. 'I am not good at cryptic shit.'

Trickster: Very well then. Just do not blow your top.
