(Okay so this is for you and me since I kind of just waved my hand with the abilities in the beginning and I need a foundation to so I don't go ahead and make some weird ass shit this is basically a journal? chapter. Also Im back from holiday but in a couple weeks I'll be busy moving like 4? I'll see what I can do for now tho so ye? Also did some minor fixes like the negotiation thing and this is for that one guy who was like the fuk you just threw a whole language at us and didn't explain shit for the abilities. Don't expect this to be long its mostly for explaining this is in cha shit then me speaking about perks doesn't mean shit in chap aint wrong tho but there is a personal expansion to explanation at bottom)
As I spent another day in my laboratory, I found myself revisiting the things I had—my "Pages," as I'd come to call them. My power was like a living book that granted me these pages: fragments of knowledge, abilities, or artifacts. Some were heavier, more substantial, often stronger. Others were slim, subtle, yet no less dangerous for their lack of weight.
The first and most important was my Qi.
Normally, Qi is thought of as lifeforce energy that flows naturally through living bodies. But here? Everything had it. Plants. Stones. Even the Barrow-wights, though theirs was twisted and foul. What did that mean? Either everything in this world was alive in some hidden sense… or what I was perceiving as Qi was really just the magic of this world. Either way, for me it was the same.
This also raised a question: could anyone use it? Perhaps, given enough time. Or maybe not—perhaps only the exceptional could, like the Istari with their divine origins, or the Elves with their timelessness and ancient crafts of song and speech. For me, the answer was simple. I had been given a Page that granted me this connection. Without it, I'd be as blind to Qi as any Hobbit.
Secondly, there was Starfang. My brother. My blade. It had changed me. Given me a deeper affinity for fire, and with it, new ways to shape my Qi. That meant that strong objects—whether bestowed by the pages or forged in this world—could influence my very nature. Or perhaps Starfang was simply that extraordinary. I couldn't be sure.
Then there was my gardening. It taught me a potential truth: the more Qi a thing carried, the more it grew toward thought, toward awareness. Plants that I infused with it developed quirks, personalities even, bending toward me in thanks. A dangerous tool, but a valuable one for enchantment, alchemy, and more.
Alchemy itself was my third page, and still one of my greatest. Alchemy requires power. Normally that power comes from sacrifice objects reduced to concepts, stone for hardness, flesh for vitality, and so on. It's costly, slow, and bound by the limits of what one can destroy. But with Qi? I had a super-material, a universal reagent. Pure, malleable, endlessly adaptable. It turned alchemy from tedious ritual into true creation. It was how I had invented flight, after all. Not without effort—but effort I could afford, with power that replenished and grew alongside me.
Fourth was my fire. My Lore of Aqshy. Not just flame, but the Wind of Fire itself, sharpened into words that carried weight. A destructive art, but refined by my Qi and by my alchemy. Shields of fire, rivers of molten stone, incantations that bent reality toward heat and ruin. It was my strongest weapon, my most direct.
And finally my newest page. Small in weight, but vast in potential. The Doll Maker of Bucuresti.
It opened doors I hadn't even known were there. It gave me the insight to fuse my knowledge of alchemy and Qi with finer, technical work I had ignored before. Machines. Mechanisms. Devices that lived between physics and sorcery. Magitech. Tools that needed no Qi at all, but functioned through principles I now understood intuitively. This was more than a new weapon or toy—it was a horizon.
And so, as smoke from my pipe curled into the rafters of the lab, I realized: each page was not just a gift. It was a foundation. A piece of the puzzle. And the picture was growing clearer.
(Here is the story end and the me talking now explaining shit
Qi: So in lotr I am ruling that the world is made from Qi or an energy called Qi prob not actually called that but its what the ability is called so ye. Now that is an energy everything in this world has that specific people and things can use like the wizards and specific races and beasts. Now this can be used for many things but is restrictive because they were made in this world for specific things or are restricted with its uses (wizards also lotr is not one for showy magic like a fire tornado) now mc can do a lot of things with it because of the perk (Page) and this is like I said a valuable energy so can be used nicely with alchemy, magic and etc because its a good fuel for that stuff. (Winds of magic are using the "Winds" which is facilitated through the perk and not actually brining the winds of magic to that world)
Alchemy: Now this is basically like the perk says changing shit with energy. You want a more durable thing get durable material and use something to facilitate that enchantment like Qi for example since its a good fuel. Now since this is lotr and I think this also kind of makes sense for alchemy in general thoughts also matter intent matters since like you get an object put stone into it now it might just be a stone version of that object instead of more durable ya get me? Now this can evolve into bigger projects like that alchemy stones that funnel more energy (Qi) into the garden and is what allowed for the special plants by enhancing it with intent for it to be what it became like better pipeweed through I don't know better kick to it and then providing it energy to do that. Or for flavoured pipeweed a blueberry for it to taste like blueberry. But most importantly ITS ALL ABOUT ENERGY or more specifically qi or magic. Its what pushes this shit to the crazy shit like the sunflower that makes a fucking elixir also I like to think lotr has flexible rules. Now for the alchemy objects its all about intent and objects and symbolism and rituals and shit. Like an example for a thing that shoots fire would be off course Qi to power it, intent and the wind of fire be melded into it basically becoming affect by the perk allowing for the wind of fire to be used. Then I don't know maybe a fuel of sort something that's flammable maybe some of mc's volcanic blood and generally fire related symbolic materials as well as personally created magic material like the sun elixir would prob help. Then ONCE AGAIN MOST IMPORTANTLY THE ENERGY which is Qi and the Intent otherwise it'd be a stick that is on fire or like whatever.
Fire magic: Simple shit. is using the wind of fire through the perk and can kind of be turned on and off the body stuff (like he decided on whether he wants to run it through his body the wind of fire) and as such I am treating it like fire magic and took the fire shield from the tactical game of Warhammer but like lowered level wise since he made it himself. Yes once again Qi can affect this as a fuel and that Qi helps with it since his is more fiery since sword. He can make spells and do fire magic simple as.
The doll maker perk: Is cool and gave him ability enchantments basically and knowledge/ability to make like tech shit like clocks and blah blah metal works and made him smarter and better at shit go read the perk list.
Sword is the most powerful perk since I am ruling it that way since I want to since its made by WHF elves who were pretty good at that shit and am basing it off the brother sword but maybe better since I don't know much about the brother sword just predicating its cool also the magic and qi can be used with the sword since its literally always on fire and can projectile vomit fire and what's it literally called "Starfang" pretty good fire then also why Qi became fiery.
If you didn't notice :) the personal writer shit wont usually be edited now if ya got here just say if you want me to clean up the personal explain part or nah make it a skill issue for people to understand gobly gook. )
