In front of a room stood three people staring at a half-naked boy who was blocking the door to the demolished remains of his room. Anger, Sadness, Helplessness, and Worry were the only emotions that were running through Lissandra, Wallace and Suzanne's minds at this point. Once again, Law's room seemed to be a site of a miniature natural disaster, which left everything broken and torn apart.
"Before you get mad, could you please come into my room so I can explain myself?" Law said stoically trying to block out any emotions. The three shared a look before entering his room and assessing the total amount of damage his room was in. Just as they had entered Law quietly shut the door behind them.
"Give me a moment before you start asking questions," Law said as he hands moved towards one of the runes closest to him. As he channeled his energy into the runes, the room lit up in bright white light, drawing the attention of the rest of his family who was looking at all the runes in shock.
"They will be powered up in just a moment, I'll tell you everything as soon as it's up," Law said softly, while his face remained the same. After a few minutes, the runes stopping glowing, and the room was now a completed isolated space.
"Law, what did you just do," Lissandra asked.
"I powered the runes that I inscribed into my walls, isolating and protecting this space so that no sound or anything else could go out, and no one could scry what was happening inside," Law explained looking at the three shocked members of his family.
"What they are runes? What are you planning to do with us locked up here?" Wallace asked in a stone-cold voice, after all, they had essentially been locked in an inescapable prison. A shocked look quickly appeared on Law's face, while his body started to tremble.
"I did not mean to ss-scare, or thr-threaten you by activating this room's runic array, I just wanted a safe space so I could explain myself?" Law said with a slight quiver in his voice, never having seen this side of Wallace. Seeing Law so vulnerable, crumbled Wallace defenses, and he quickly gained an apologetic look on his face.
"I didn't mean it like that Law, it's just ... that this situation is kind of villain-Esque" Wallace said while getting swatted by Lissandra.
"Law, what are runes, and how can you use them? And why aren't you wearing a shirt?" Lissandra asked diverting Law's attention.
"Runes are symbols, and letters which use various types of energy such as magical energy to cause a certain effect. For example, if you draw the rune for fire on something, and power it, you will probably cause a small flame to appear. I took off my shirt when I started my training routine" Law answered quickly while wondering why his shirt had disintegrated again.
"Is that what you've been doing inside your room the whole time?" Suzanne asked curiously, with her eyes widening indicating her amazement. Wallace and Lissandra also gained a look of wonder and understanding.
"Was this really what you were doing in your room alone for all these years? You could have told us, we wouldn't have thought badly of you, or treated you any differently." Lissandra said while crouching so that she was his height and softly rubbing his hair.
Law was stunned, he had somehow gotten himself out of revealing his actual power base, and instead just revealed runes. Which while important, wasn't going to be his main focus. For a few minutes, he just stood silently while Lissandra, Wallace, and Suzanne gushed about how amazing this was.
'I should feel relieved that I don't have to tell them anything else, but why do I still feel pressured, and uncomfortable' Law thought while Suzanne came up to him and started to ask if he could teach her. Law looked into her bright and innocent eyes, the same eyes that he had seen all those years ago.
'F*ck, I can't keep lying to the' Law thought while pushing Suzanne away slightly.
"No, that wasn't what I was going to tell you. I was going to tell you that I'm a cultivator, like in all those ancient Chinese myths. And no, I don't mean a farmer.
I mean a person who trains themselves so that they could become immortal, ride flying swords, and destroy mountains with their fists. For the last 5 years, I have been training myself in secret, using a library full of techniques that only I have access to. It allows me to absorb the world's energy to strengthen my body, soul, and energy reserves so that I can ascend mortality and become a God.
I'm training myself so that I can become a freak of nature, someone who shouldn't exist in this world. I'm being that shouldn't exist in this universe and the best part of this that I'm doing it to myself. I'm forcing myself to become inhuman. I don't even think I can classify as a human genetically at this very moment.
You should hate me, not look at me in wonder and amazement. I've been lying to you for years; I've been forcing Suzanne to keep a technique which I gave her when she was young a secret. I've repeatedly broken your trust, after everything you've done for us. You've adopted us, you've given me a family, something I've never had, and I lied to you.
I've lied to the only mother I've ever known, one of the only people who ever cared for me unconditionally.
I've lied to my father, the man whose life I've barged into. Yet, he still cared for me, and always gave me everything I've ever needed.
I've lied to my perfect little sister, someone who I would gladly sell my soul for. I've betrayed her trust, and despite knowing her for so many years, I've never told her anything.
I'm worse than the mutants that everyone on the news seems to hate. WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH?" Law yelled while his long shaggy hair covered his face, as he faced the ground. His should begin to quiver, while his vision became blurry as tears filled his eyes.
This stunned the three, but they didn't remain shocked for long. They were drawn to the normally mature, and stoic boy, whose tears were now dropping onto the floor.
The three were stunned, but despite his revelations, all three quickly smothered Law in a group hug. Suzanne was the first to break out of the shock and hugged him, before Lissandra and then Wallace joined in.
"I don't care if you're the devil himself, you're always going to be my baby boy. / You're my son, one of the joys of my life, you're never going to a burden / I love your big brother, I'll always love you no matter what" the three said while hugging Law tightly. Law finally broke out crying, and openly sobbing onto Lissandra shirt, Suzanne's head, and Wallace's sleeve.
They stayed like this for a few minutes before Law stopped crying and started to blush a little. Lissandra and Wallace found his blushing face adorable, and they both smiled at him, while Suzanne remained in his embrace.
"Can you tell us more about cultivation?" Lissandra asked while wiping her tears.
"Sure mom," Law said happily while wiping his eyes. For the next hour, he explained to them everything they needed to know about his cultivation system and even told them that he could now teleport, as well as control 6 elements. He even gave them a full out demonstration, puffed up his chest in pride.
"Well that would explain why you've grown a few inches, why your hair now reaches your back, and why you have a runic circle on your back that only has the outer layer filled," Lissandra said while wiping her tears.
"WAIT, WHAT?" Law asked surprised.
