Chapter 16 - Trip in Hell Part 3 & 4 Enemies pffttt I eat souls

"So you have chosen the tougher path. I thank you from the bottom of my soul." Max sent out a jab. Instantly a 100 punches went out. The small amount was not up to snuff for him. "That will not do." Another jab went out sending a thousand. 'Always the one problem with rebirth, I do not have to train them diligently for insight since I already know the skills already. But the body needs to feel it again. Still can wreck stuff enough.' A smile of glee formed on his face.

As the blows rained down on Etrigan, the demon thought it had erred in his opponent's strength. It's demonic endurance holding at first. Fresh skin would form back up. But the flames burning it away in seconds after. Etrigan raised his arms to block on instinct.

*Fwip!* A jab smashed through the guard of Etrigan. A few bone's cracked a little.

"Raaah!" Etrigan roared in pain. Max's fire was something he never experienced. Stepping forward a few steps, Etrigan tried to power through. "I am a prince of hell! You will pay for this insult!" Skin blackening from the intensity.

*Enhale!* Etrigan took a deep breath to inhale.

The demon wanted to pit its flames against Max's. The golden flame pushed back and created an opening. Max had manipulated his own flames to allow it through. Max pushed his fist through the fire and grabbed Etrigan's tongue.

*Fwoosh!* Fire poured into Etrigan's stomach. Max delivered a side kick to the stomach. The kick was a trigger for the flame inside.

*Boom!* A small explosion went off.

Fire poured from Etrigan's ears, nose, and eyes. Once the fire stopped, a bright light engulfed the area. A higher-up demonic entity made its presence known. It watched from above everything that took place.

Max stepped back to create some distance. Whoever it was, only displayed presence. He couldn't attack till he found there location.

'Vacuum!' Max smashed his hands together with force. Spirit energy wrapped around creating a tunnel effect.

Pulling air away from the surroundings, Etrigan felt his lungs start to burn. The damage was already healing from the spiritual flames slowly, but with this added in, it wouldn't take long to destroy the organs entirely.

*Lunge!* Etrigan kicked off into a charge at Max.

"DIE MORTAL!" Etrigan bellowed swinging with empowered demonic might. The blow hit Max in the side and sent him flying back. "Bleagh!" Etrigan coughed up his organs and taking a knee to recover. "That fire.. what is it.."

The organ pieces burned away instantly. Max recovered from the strike and looked at the bits annoyed. He wanted to harvest the pieces for a recipe but separate from the demon Etrigan energy, it could sustain itself in the open.

The Demon that helped Etrigan took that time to pull him out of there.

*Rumble!* The sky darkened leaving nothing behind of the demon and of Etrigan's presence.

Morgan looked around and did not like their odds. Jason was getting stronger the more he fought but the wounds on his body were increasing at a dangerous rate.

'Need to get out of here!' Cutting a lesser demon in half with a spell blade she floated back. A quick look around the area made her skin crawl. A white translucent sword was cutting across the area. Max made it out of his spirit energy on instinct. The recent breakthrough bringing back his old fighting habits. 'At least they are not hitting me. In fact, they have even defended me some.'

Morgan felt a demon approach from behind. Before she could fully turn, a spirit sword cut through the air slicing the horned demon into pieces. A quick incantation from her, and green energy rays fired out of her hands. She then collapsed spent. Jason took steps back retreating to her.

"Easy there. It will be fine." Max appeared next to her and Jason. His fingers moving creating a spell with his muttering. "Endure the testament of Rebellion!"

The Black spell went off without a hitch. Morgan shuddered from the raw magic output. Jason gaining goosebumps. He did not like the feel of it. More sinister than anything he felt from Etrigan.

*Shine!* Blacklight engulfed the area. Spreading from the three as decrepit Angel's shielded them. Black fire mixed with the light, burning at the demons turning them into nothing.

"Noooo!" One demon in particular, screamed in defiance. The body was almost gone, but the head still there. A "Willpower" ignited from the recent fighting keeping the beast alive. "Spare me! I will serve!"

Max extended his hand. Wrapping the subdued demon in demonic energy, he shrunk it as he pulled it towards him. It was a slight whim of Max's. For it to be so close and survive the light was something to look into.

All around the others burned away. Souls destroyed wiping them from existence.

'Monster!' Morgan felt the aching pain of what Max did. She had killed countless and sacrificed scores of people. But to destroy the soul outright, denying any chance at rebirth and redemption was too much. 'I need to tread carefully!' Eyes darting around looking for an exit. 'But he must have a limit to what he can do.'

Max finished his chant of reconstruction. The demon was placed under a total of 99 enslavement spells. As well as an open contract Max could manipulate at will.

'Aww, you make a very adorable little creature. I will turn you into something more satisfying later.' The demon now miniature felt indignant but also a sense of relief and safety. 'You will make a great Familiar.' Max thought to it.

'I am one of the strongest of the Unbound Demons, now reduce to that of a Familiar!'

'As a Familiar with one of my people, it will give you certain benefits. You will find out more later. Rest in this subspace.' Max sent the demon away to an area rich in energies. 'If you eat it all, do not get mad when I starve you later.'

The energies inside were not beneficial to human base cultivators. If Max studied the pure demon way it would be. But that would be stupid. to many restrictions for human that refuse to forget certain things.

"Ah break time." With a clap of his hands, the barren area turned into a lush forest. Manipulating the terrain was easy after he cultivated it. If the demons that died knew their very essences were used to make a future area for humanity to become stronger, they might just rampage for the hell of it.

*Drop.* A canopy appeared with three tents underneath.

"Do go and freshen up. We have more disobedient demons to kill or enslave later." Max mask turned to an innocent expression.

"Right..." Morgan took off in an instant. Going to the furthest tent, she hoped to recover enough to escape the current situation. 'I need to recover first!' A basket of fruit and bread drew her attention. The crystal table to the side did not pique her interest in the least. A combination of magi fruit and spiritual fruit. "How did he gets this? Why does something like him have these!?"

Morgan could not resist the temptation. Magi fruit was scarce for her to obtain. Two many people she killed when getting them previously, made it difficult for people to trust her. Thoughts of asking her sisters for help immediately went out the window.

"He did say freshen up." Biting the smallest one flooded her body with potent pure magic. She could feel her atrophied organs start to awaken. As Morgan ate, she disrobed and entered the small spring that was available. The basket floating behind her with a simple thought. "If this spring is anywhere near as potent as the fruit, I can defintely make headway in regaining my full power."

As soon as she entered the water however, she realized she couldnt steal the power in it. A few spiritual symbols underneath lit up. The formation below made the water clean her body and pierce into her flesh.

Morgan was alarmed at first. Thinking she needed to fight free, but settle down once the effects hit deep inside her.

"Ahhh!" Morgan moaned as the sensation of her organs coming to life hit her. Her bones no longer supported by magic became enriched and lively. No longer brittle and on the verge of destruction. "Uggghhh that bastard could have warned me!" Drool left her mouth when the nerves grew back.

Unable to resist the sensations, Morgan fainted in the water. When she awakened, the body would be her own still but still old on the outside. But young on the inside. The spring did not fix her appearance.

-Jason Blood-

Over in the other tent, Jason was having the same thing happen to him. However not as critical. He was able to meditate and eat while recovering. The body fully healed and strengthening by the second. The discipline gained from the time with keeping Etrigan at bay showing itself.

"The right choice was made. My humanity restored and a chance to atone." Jason was at peace with his decision. The demon Etrigan had done much he could not agree with. Only a few acts that made things bearable in the end. "So much to make up for."

Centering himself, Jason cycled the energies of the Spring. The Magic Cultivation Max gave him went to work. The bit of Spirit training in the manual only strengthened his own soul.

*Boop!* A ripple of magic appeared in the spring. A woman started to form. She watched Jason change his fate to something better.

'I never thought I would see this happen. Not after the change in history.' The water woman thought. 'Is this what sister foretold?' Not wanting to tempt fate just yet, she dissipated after touching the spring. 'A little spell to help me keep track of you Jason.'

*Boop.* She left just as fast as she arrived.

"Huh!?' Jason finally felt the presence. Looking around and finding nothing, he went back to meditating. "I suppose I am to sensitive. I must hone my mind and body into one!"

*Ripple!* The spring responded in kind. The waters went into his pores helping speed up his advancement.

-Max's Tent-

"Haa she took the bait. Hmm, Morgan will make a fair Teacher in the more complex magic for females." Max switched the mirror from Morgan with a flick of his fingers. Making sure to limit her options, was the best move. Overconfidence will have everything blowback in Max's face. "And the Lady of the Lake made an appearance, how interesting. I had no interest in messing with her. But... I wonder what will happen if I do?"

In his hands, the demon was restructured into an animal. Max turned him into a ferret. It would not be possible without his recent breakthrough without the use of abundant resources. Something he would not waste things on.

"Better. Go back to your work." After sending it away, Max opened another mirror. It leads to the Lady Of the Lake's domain in Britain. Her tampering can not go without a warning from him. "Since you did not knock, neither will I." His voice cutting through the domain.

*Ripple!* Spirit energy laced in his voice cutting through the small magic protections. Mostly the tracking and prying ones that moved towards him.

The small protections were at the stage of Student Tier 3. Not enough to cause problems for Max's experience. But he needed to be mindful of different tricks the Lady of the Lake might have.

"I expected you to come in the future." The Lady of the Lake responded. When Max walked all the way out, he floated above the lake. The magical waters churned, the feelings transmitted back to the Lady. She felt fear. Max had spread his Spiritual powers and locked the area down completely. "What is the meaning of this!?"

The Lady of the Lake pushed back trying to release his control. It was working with ease, but Max was funneling the demonic energy of the Hell to push against her. This was a futile battle for her.

Slowly pure spiritual and magical energy was created. The energy was created from her efforts in the clash. The Lady of the Lake had powerful cleaning abilities. If she was so inclined to use them instead of hiding away all the time. That is what Max believed anyway.

"Relax. Just a talk on my terms. I will not have you using any tricks. Or calling that fool of yours for help." Max said as pleasant as possible. The mask image changed to that of a playful child. This unnerved the woman even more so. "Now why are you playing with my toys? Can you not get your own?"

"Toys!?" The Lady of the Lake was confused. From Max's tone she couldn't tell if he was messing with her. He was not the first creature that was millennia old and still considered young. "I mean Jason Blood all the best. I assure you."

"And your sister? What about her? She is my new friend. She doesn't know it yet though." Max stepped onto the water causing it to ripple. A gold glow went out creating a holy effect. Slowly Max's mask shifted to a scowl. "Sanctify the water." The small spell made the water stronger. It could now be used to prevent demons. "A gift."

"Thank... you." Feeling the effects of the water, the Lady of the Lake was shocked at the purity increase. 'So he is not a demon... What is he then?' staring at Max she got to the point. "Jason Blood, has a future ahead of him. The battle between Good and Evil will require his help. Seperated from Etrigan he can.."

"No. That is final." Max felt he had spent enough time here with her. "Bye-bye now, Castle Branek. I suggest you dive into it, Vivienne." It was best to leave before she found the change in her lake had far more reaching changes. In time, she would find out. But it would hopefully be to late.

"I have know idea of what you are. But I will not be ordered around by you. I will do what I think is best. Jason Blood and Morgan Le Fey have a big role to play in the future."

*Pulse!* Max sent out a pulse of divine energy. Just to mess with her a little more.

*Pulse!* The divine energy turned into demonic energy in an instant.

"No matter. Things to do. Keep that neck clean if you plan on starting trouble, I will gladly come and collect your soul." Max opened a mirror and stepped in. The Lady of the Lake was left with the impression of his Mask shifting to that of an evil man. Teeth bared and fangs retracting. "Be good to Jason when you messs with him, and you would be suprised what you will obtain from it."

"What is he!?" Vivienne yelled. "Both goodness and villainy mix into one! How can his control be so high?!" Sinking into her waters to calm her mind, she missed a small eye floating high up above.

-Finding Etrigan-

Several demons had gathered under Etrigan's banner. The survivors of the attack from Max and the others gifted by the demon that helped him escape. If Max saw the demon he would have been able to identify him. The demon was Shathan the Eternal. Not their in person, but a ghostly projection. It was manipulating events to gain its freedom from the Realm of Dis.

As its ruler, he had full dominion over it. But he desired to take Earth for his own. He needed to remove the opposition of the various rulers of Hell first. Etrigan was just a good way to do so.

Max, Morgan, and Jason had arrived after tracking them down a few days. Several demon realms had been wiped out or enslaved by them. Max had found several demon's with human blood in them. This lead to a breeding pit. Inside where several men tide down. Several demonic women spent days "extracting" their seed. The leader seeing Morgan surrendered immediately.

Finding out Max was in charge made her confused. Max sealed the domain and told them to allow the men to rest for seven days. He did give them a small spellbook to help them. Inside was a way to guarantee their pregnancies more effectively.

The demon were a mixture of japanese Yuuki Onna. In other words Snow Women. Pale white skin with glacier blue eyes. Long black hair and nails sharp as swords. As well as Harpies. The higher up demons had taken the males for countless years to boost their forces. The racial abilities of the Harpies combined with their speed made them a great asset. The female left where wingless.

"Hmmm, I wonder what we should do to help them later. Not really bad demons but having abducted those men, make things only a little problematic." Max's mask turned into a grotesque question mark. "I will check and see if the humans taken were worth anything back on earth. Can not leave any families with out."

"Not virtuous enough to free them all I take it?" Jason asked. From the fighting of the few months, while they looked for Etrigan, Max displayed both compassion and ruthlessness in equal measure.

"Not all deserve it. If a modern-day court of law saw what you did back then Jason and since then, you think you would be considered worth saving?" Up ahead were several demons. "Answer me before go in and kill them."

"Modern day or back then, no." Jason said with regret. He summoned his armor and prepared for battle. "But I think we should save them all the same."

"Because you are foolish. You should know the hearts of men better than anyone." Morgan said. She looked at the countless demons and felt her blood boil. 'The idea of fighting them is causing the energy from the spring to circulate in my body. I can feel my magic bristling with power.'

"Jason, when this over I think it would best for you to save the innocent in Hell. It is a very great training area for you." Max's mask turned into a smile. "I like your resolve. Do keep it up!"

*Tap!* max kicked off the ground flying into the air. A large amount of demonic might circled his body. He came down like a black meteor.

*Fizzle!* Several demons felt the energy was beneficial to their bodies. They immediately surged with power consuming it.

*Crack!* The impact sent debris flying in every direction. As the pieces floated, Max wrapped them in spiritual energy. Each piece started to circle like rings. With a small thought, they went out attacking all in their wake.

"With this power I can rule all!" Bloated on power a demon yelled out. Around him, the others felt the same. Another pulse of power flowed into them. That is when things went bad. "To much power!"

"Blood Explosion!" Max triggered the energy and inside their bodies. The technique was both support and an offensive one. Support wise it stimulated demonic bloodlines by mixing into them. Offensively, it would cause the energy inside to run rampant.

*Kaboom!* Severe explosions went out across the battlefield. The bodies were destroyed, but the blood emergy remained. Max diverted it upward to create power for a big spell. He himself, charged at Etrigan.

Morgan and Jason fought from the outskirts. Max had targeted all the high-level demons and generals. He prayed on their greedy desires. Max gamble of feeding their Greed worked well enough.

Up above the blood clouds pulled downward. They broke apart and turned into a tornado. The several demons in the area started to flee finally. Morgan and Jason were more than they could handle with everything going on.

"This will be the last time we fight human." Etrigan said to Max. His size was a little bigger and his skin now a demonic red. On his chest, he wore black demonic armor that shifted about. A quick look from Max's eyes revealed countless male souls inside. Both human and demon.

"I agree completely!" May used his movement technique to slip behind. Slithering Eel art worked wonders with the help of the bit of Atlantean power he gained recently. Max's right hand moved turning into a chop. 'Pierce!'

*Splurt!* Max's hand stabbed through an opening in the armor.

"Ahhhh!" Etrigan screamed as Mas stabbed into his armpit. Etrigan sent his elbow back catching Max in the chest. Max said nothing but the Max turned into that of anguish. The force of the strike freeing Etrigan. "I will crush you!"

Etrigan turned to grab Max by the arm. Getting hold he ripped it off. Etrigan smiled in triumph. But the look on Max face gave it paused.

"What is this sorcery?!" Max's arm dissolved into muk and spread across Etrigan's body. The muk wrapped around the demon's head smothering it a little.

"Hehehe!" Max chuckled as he kicked Etrigan. Knocking him into the air he formed a few spirit swords to attack those nearby that came to help. "Etrigan, this will be fun!" Max pulled on the energies as he watched. He took this time to cultivate Temperance. 'Such good energy. Need to get my virtues up before it is to late.'

Max flicked his wrist, signaling the swords to gather up. As Etrigan struggled to get free from the Muk, it was better to get rid of the demon forces.

'What clan are these other demons from?' Max couldnt figure out for the life of him. He wouldn't risk wasting the energy to check with the eyes at this time. The larger horned demons gave the same feeling as the armor on Etrigan. 'Hmm, his mind is to tough to get through. Guess I will extract it from his soul.'

*Bang!* Etrigan stood up after thrashing around. Both hands gripping the muk as he pulled. He exhaled breathing out his flame. The armor moving up to pushed the muk off.

"Detonate!" Max exploded his arm getting rid of the armor in one go.

"One arm down, and a few more limbs to go." Etrigan said with a sneer. Reaching down, it pulled up a mace. A weapon from one of the countless demons that have died already. "What can you achieve with one arm?"

Swinging with demonic might, Etrigan wanted to pummel Max into paste. Swinging like a mad beast relentlessly, burned through his energy quickly. Max continued to slither around the battlefield.

"Ahhhh!" A demon yelled as the mace tore through its side. "Ahhh!" Another screamed as Max slithered pass it. Max was moving in a line from Jason and Morgan.

"Stay still coward!" Etrigan yelled. Max did just that. "Now die!" Swinging from overhead, he came down with a devasting strike. Feeling a sense of dread, Etrigan turned. Mace leading the swing. "Got you now!"

*Thump!* The mace made a muffle sound.

Max had lifted a demon's corpse to use as a blocker. Dropping the body, Max placed his good hand at his armless shoulder. Circling spirit energy, he pulled out a new one. Hyper Regeneration took a long time and cost a lot of energy. But was easier to do before the Cultivator soul became use to what happened.

"Ah, much better. Phantom itches are an absolute headache to deal with." Max held his new hand up and gave a few flexes. Several spirit swords congealed in the area. "Sword Storm!"

Discarded swords and spirit swords circled around Etrigan in an instant. Max himself slithered away. Moving around, he kept striking every demon in his path. As he moved, Max was checking over Jason and Morgan. They both had pushed themselves to the limit against the large wve of demons long enough. The swords keeping Etrigan at bay.

"Filthy human!" A demon yelled. He reached after mask as fast as he could. "Got you!" Giving a squeeze, he crushed what was in his hand.

"You traitor! How dare you kill my brother!" Another demon yelled.

*Thump!* A body fell to the ground. It was that of another demon.

*Clap! clap!* To claps echoed through the area.

"Great job." Max said. His mask turning into a smile. "Time to finish up!" Max touched the ground triggering a formation. Nother big, but nothing to weak. Something the swords had been carving into the ground.

*Whoosh!* Whirling spirit energy erupted across the battlefield. In an instant, it created a large swirl of spirit energy. The swords cutting everything in its bath like a blender.

"Shit!" Jason felt his stamina was at the very limit. He jumped back and retreated. Stabbing his sword in the ground, Jason activated the spells in his armor to protect himself. 'I need to train more. Ran out of steam to quick.'

"Waaa!" Morgan yelled as she was pulled into the air. "Get me down from here!" Her magic was all but spent. Flying around like a rag doll was not the best experience. Her mask flew off revealing her old decrepit face.

*Slip!* Max reappeared by Etrigan.

With a spirit punch to the neck, he stopped the demons thought process. Flooding the body with his energy for Max's next move. Delivering another blow to the spine, Max jumped away. he was just in time as demon fired a blast of energy toward him.

Getting away was easy enough, but it bought Etrigan enough time to recover. Max activated his spell taking control of the ground. Out of Etrigan's feet, arms appeared and grabbed the ground. Effectively keeping the demon in place.

"Such a shame to make an enemy of me." Max said walking over. Hands glowing in sprit fire. "Extraction!" From Max's hands spectral hands grabbed hold of Etrigan holding him in place.

"Yo..u ca.." Etrigan said speaking with effort. "Kuff!" His lungs shriveled as he threw them up. Max didn't stop his attack.

Opening his hands, large concentrations of spirit energy flowed between them. It formed a hand that reached out and pulled Etrigans soul out. Max was good at extracting disobedient demon souls. With all the time Etrigan spent with Jason Blood, several traces of human soul characteristics had formed. This made the process even easier for him.

"Waste not.." the soul broke from the body. Only a small bit of it remained. "...want not." Max crushed the soul and turned it into spiritual energy. 'Such a good resource. This will take a while to cultivate. So much leftover to give to the others.'

"Huff... huff.." Jason stood up and walked over. "Thank you for sparing him somewhat. Though we fought, I would not want his death. More of his imprisonment. "

"He will learn to obey." Max looked up and watched as Morgan came crashing down. His arms outstretched as he applied a spell and caught her. "Feather Breeze." Little red feathers flew out and brushed her body as she landed. "Well, have you decided yet?"

"My mask! I need my mask!" Morgan covered her hands over her face. Her clothes were destroyed to much to block her really. "I am hideous, do not look at me!"

"Hmm, you are but not in that way." Max realized it would be a while before he could get through to her. But he needs someone like her for various reasons. As well as the magic she knew, her connections to Great Britain magic society turned into a must.. "Easy now, this is only temporary." Max hands had a green glow as he waved it over her.

Morgan aged back to her prime. Well, an older prime. She was about 30 years old or so.

"I will age you back more if you behave." Max said as he made a Mirror for her to see. He could feel his Virtue started to spin in his cultivation. Mercy as well as Perseverance.

"I will hear you out." Morgan said quietly. She could feel her strength grow a little. As well as a small tiny bit of her anger vanish. 'I will see what you have to offer me first.' She thought to herself.

"Hmm, lets.." Max stopped as he felt a change taking place. "Shit! We are returning to earth. Etrigan go to your mothers domain. She has more to tell than what you think. Try not to go homicidal maniac on anyone."

"I will head with him. I need the training and.." Jason turned to Morgan. "..what will you do with her?"

"She is coming with. I need her to teach someone something." Max created a mirror and stepped through. He placed Morgan in the den to rest. "I will be out of touch for awhile. Try not to die while I am gone."

"You trust me in your home?" Morgan asked.

"Yes. Best way to build trust. Besides the people there are no pushovers. You need to remember what it is like to be human." Max warned. He was very sure of Selina's prowess. She knew a guest was arriving just didnt know when. "Bye!"

Max activated his Teleportation spell, Etrigan and Jason Blood were transported miles away.

(Max here it comes.) The A.I. alerted. (This tribulation force .. is massive.)

"NO SHIT!" Max yelled. 'Why is it so much!?'

Up above, the Realm looked to have cracked open. Spiritual force more powerful than anything the realm had come across was descending. Max only expected this in Sacred Grounds people or for High Body Tier people. He forgot about the current body he possessed had better aspects than the previous he would usually get.

A black bolt struck Max first. He took it with no problem. Images of Selina's various of lives played. The eyes of the World lit up as it took everything in.

'Shit this thing is the reason why! Coupled with my own things, this is gonna hurt a lot.'

Max saw Selina work as a whore. He then saw her meet Bruce while he was disguised. It was from the comic and movie year one. Before she started stealing as Catwoman and before Bruce started as Batman.

He then watched as it changed. A more Victorian area based one. Selina and Bruce fighting against.. Commissioner Gordon. He was a serial killer. The animated movie Batman Gaslight.

The next one was Selina and Bruce having gotten married. They were happy for a time. Until Bruce canceled a trip to go on vacation. Claiming that the city needed him. His words broke Selina's heart. She got up gave him a kiss, then left.

"Ughh!" Max groaned as the eyes took everything in again. Selina's future was completely here own now. Besides the few connections to the contract.

A black and gold wind bore down on his body. It slowly cut his flesh up into several pieces. Forcing Max to heal at a fast rate. Images of Slade striking down against a Robin played out. Teen Titans animated series. Meeting his death, he was later revived by Trigon to hassle Raven. It then showed a little in reverse, showing Slade getting shot in the eye by his wife after their son was kidnapped. Sh did not like how Slade handled the situation at all.

Then next, it played him attacking the League of Assasins and killing Ra's Al Ghul. It was The Son of Batman movie. A little mixture of a comic that Max was unfamiliar with playing as well.

But then it blurred to the TV Show Arrow. Slade hunting Oliver down for revenge over a woman. It ended with Slade trying to kill a young woman. His own daughter who took up the name Ravager later. The TV Show Titans had mixed with Arrow some how. Or it was just playing at the same time in his mind.

(Clear that hurdle. So many connected.. I spoke to soon.) The A.I. intoned. ( A few more are coming.)

"A red one?"

The small red flame pierced Max right in the heart. It travelled throughout his entire body burning his pores from the inside. A single image of Claire played out.

Her becoming a plaything of Toyman after finally getting away from the government. She stole and burned several of his toys finally escaping with the help of Superman. She was placed on an island left to her own devices for a bit of time. But the needs and desires couldn't keep her there for long.

"Haaa, not to bad." Max had already cycled his cultivation healing himself. A overwhelming magical force bore down on him next. "Great.. John and Black Adam at the same time." His eyes went wide spotting an additional one. "And their goes the full backlash from keeping Bruce's parents alive so long."

The demonic energy and giant gold bolt blasted Max's body apart.

"Yup.. gonna spread things out a little more. Some people are just going to have to suffer for the safety of Earth." Max felt his body painstakingly rebuild. It went up an actual tier from the rework. "Ehhhhh!?"

(Scenario finished.. congratulations on upgrading your body to the next tier.) The A.I. was working on getting Max out of there as soon as possible. Several demons were coming to see what was going on. (Heading to room now.)

-Max's Den-

"Ugh, that was funny and not fun." Max grumbled. The different spells in his room restoring his body and mind in seconds to better levels. "Need to build a spiritual array soon. Mana by itself is just to wonky."

"Max.. are you ok?" Maria asked. She came to replace the drinks in Max's cooler. Her training was to low to sense anything to much. But the disheveled look was noticeable. "You look to be sweating."

"Yeah... I need to go rest. In fact get a little help.. for me." Max collapsed exhausted.
