-Balcony of the penthouse-
.
Selina had followed Maxmillion from school. It was not hard, as he was on autopilot. With him moving to a comic book store then to the grocery store, she thought about jumping at him then. She restrained herself to seeing him head to a large Apartment complex. Sneaking in, was the hardest part. So she waited till night time.
A shining light deep inside made sure she was able to move pass some of the guard spells in place.
(Scenario unfolding. Selina Kyle recruitment opportunity is almost closing.)
"Hmmm." Max looked to the side of the balcony. Selina had shimmy down the side. 'Well, that defintely lets me know she is the meta-human version and not the one trained by the circus people.'
Movements were unnatural for someone her age without constant training. It came to her very easily.
"Max.. I want your help!" Selina said. She was breathing heavily and looked very malnourished now that he had a better look at her. More so than before at the hospital. "My mom.. The people at the Shelter could not help in time. Mom.. did not want to press charges either."
"Yeah pretty fucking stupid on that part." Max leaned against the wall and looked her over again. Spotting the bruises, he shook his head. "Go and shower. Have a meal as well. We can talk from there. You in there and me from the hallway."
"Ok." Max walked first. He was already aware of the dagger on her side tucked away. As well as the brass knuckles under the bandage wrap. Talking for what felt like an hour, and Selina's 3rd bowl of soup, he lamented what she did to get to him. But it made her stronger and helped things a little more. "Who have you been texting?" She asked with interest.
"An officer. The one assigned to your case." Max stood up hearing her come out of the bathroom. "We should head to my study. Things are underway. Your mother has been discharged, and is on her way here with a very trustworthy person."
"Lead the way." Selina was still skeptical. But couldn't get over how relaxed Max was. It was almost comforting in a way. Inside the study, she felt a weird sensation crawl over her skin. Max had both windows open. And the balcony door open. Giving her several exits to get away to. 'Guess he did it for my sake.'
"Are you sure about this little Cat?" Maxmillion asked Selina. Staring at her intently for any doubt. None was found. "There will be no going back after this. This will change your "Fate" for all time."
"I am sure. I will do whatever it takes to make sure my mother will never have to lie to the police like that again. I never want to experience living under the thumb of anyone else so vile. I will follow you Maxmillion." Selina said in one breath. She took out the contract that formed while she was in the bathroom. "Signed it. Now how do we start?"
*Fwoosh!* The contract caught fire and turned to a little drop of liquid. No bigger than a marble. The same as the one he passed for her to drink earlier. Well just full of another power. She swallowed it. Enjoying the smooth feeling in her belly made her giddy.
"Very well then. Look over these different pieces of material. After you choose one, come find me." Max floated a few Cultivation manual's for her to look over. He didn't move far before she stopped him.
"I want the one you have! If that is allowed. Well, you can teach me some of it and I can develop my own way afterward." Selina stretched on her toes. "I mean, I can't betray you thanks to the contract, so share with me. Or, are you scared I will be better than you?" She asked with a little tease.
Selina was defintely competitive. The information passed from the contract already working to make things better for her mentally. Helping to make sense of her instincts she already had.
"Alright. My cultivation is derived from the various regions of my original Earth. I call it Sin And Virtue." Seeing Selina chuckle, he smiled forcefully. "Give me a break. It was my first reincarnation and I was extremely happy about it at the time. People laugh when they hear it, but I would always keep it the same no matter what. When allowed to anyway."
"Hehe, I bet. So that sounds good. I will do that, however," she shuffled a little in place. Bouncing around a little. "However, I will do it slower since you gave me... what did you call it?"
"A Spirit Drop. Each have different names, but I gave you a standard one for someone of a higher level would receive. That is the reason for your increased healing and the awakening of your Metagene to a higher level."
"Yeah, you said that before. So within your cultivation, what is the best that goes with my Metagene?"
"Best would be Egyptian or.. Greek." Maxmillion said as his eyes turned back from a bluish-white tint. Spirit energy at work checking something. The eyes deriving something from Selina but not something he could make out at the current time. "I recommend the first."
"Sounds good. My mom said we have family in Egypt still. Oh but also in Cuba!" Selina thought about how long it would take before she could have her mom back to normal. "How long till my mom is ok?"
It was in the contract she signed for her mom to receive help quickly.
"Hmm, she will be healed up in a few weeks. As far as her mind and soul, that will take a bit longer. If this was my previous self, it would be easier. Do not worry, a small spell has been cast on her. She will go through the motions of everyday life while her body heals. I have given her the job of a maid at my place. Feel free to stay there as well, it is up to you." Max drummed his finger against his opposite arm. A small thought passing quickly. "But keep in mind, if you start screwing around I will leave you to fend for yourself."
"You do not have to worry. I will work hard." Selina was not worried about that at all. Her mom was the most important thing. She followed Max into the kitchen. "What are you getting now? Can't, you just survive off your spirit energy?"
"Food and water is important to the body and the soul. It is not just to appear normal, but to disregard that is crazy. I do not recommend giving up mortal life in that way." Max shook his head at the crazy fools that did so. A lot of cultivators ended up dying that way. Especially when they expended all of their energy. "You will go mad from it."
Selina nodded and grabbed an apple to eat.
"Good. You start Gotham Jr. High School in a few days. Enjoy your time off." Maxmillion said as he walked out of the kitchen.
"School! I don't want to go!" Selina pleaded. It fell on deaf ears.
Returning to his study, Maxmillion sat and called for the police officer Troy Hill. The man arrived in a few moments.
*Woom!* A spirit portal opened up. On the opposite side, was Officer Hill. He looked better but nervous. The house he lived in, was his parents.
"You did well. Everything was done properly. No real rules broken." Max was hidden and looked like his persona Mr.Vega but obscured even more so. The apartment was even more effective while Max sat in the study. The countless formations fueled in energy to help.
"Thanks.. what do I call you?" Officer Hill asked. He never remembered if he was told.
"Just call me "Watcher" for now. What would you like for a reward? I have given you small natural guide enhancements. In time, you will gain more or you gain something else for now. What will it be?"
"My brother. He is dying from a disease. I don't have the money for the treatment. Can you help me?"
"I can. Tell me of the disease."
Officer Troy told Maxmillion of the disease in great detail. His brother was in the latter stages of it. In another two years, he would be bedridden. Then a few years after, dead.
With a flick of his wrist, a small bottle appeared. Using a little spirit energy, he made a dropper and a small glass bottle no bigger than an inkwell. Extracting a few drops Max put them into the inkwell.
"One drop for now. Make sure no one is in the room. He will scream something terrible mind you. Even if he bites his tongue off, he will be fine. Keep him home for a few days afterward." It floated over through the portal.
"Thank you. Watcher, I will do what you have said. I will contact you as soon as I am able."
Before Maxmillion, could say anything else, the cop closed it on his end.
Returning the remainder back to inventory, he relaxed in the chair. Thinking of the different scenarios in place a small smirk appeared on his face. Enjoying it for a while was nice. But training was more important. Maxmillion relaxed and cultivated till he reached the peak of the current realm.
(The turbines have been completely drained. New ones will have to be purchased.) the A.I. informed. (The use was to brutal with out rest.)
Underneath the Apartment complex were a few generators. Even further down were a few turbines. Each of them powered down. Burned out from the energy siphoning. Max just wasted about 15 million dollars in one go. The good news, it was insured. The bad news, the repair time.
The alternative was heading out into space or search earth deeply. Both were a bad idea at the current level. But the good old technology era provided sources. Solar panels on top of the place would power the building with the generators. So no problem for the few residents inside.
(Solar Array 15% complete.)
"Tch it's almost time. This will be painful." Placing seals across the floor he activates the spell matrix to help with a breakthrough.
Slowly particles of bright light and dark light poured itself into him. His bones started to grind and break against each other. The energy poured into his new broken bits into the marrow. New capella formed up. Way more enriched and more powerful than before.
"Hah.. hah.. bones are just the beginning." Refining them to the next tier was to easy with the energy. "Can go treasure hunting after this. Deep-sea diving to be exact." Mumbling to himself, he felt when Selina came in. She wanted to ask him some questions but seeing the abundant Energy. She decided to sit down.
"Do not be stingy." Selina took the second-best seat.
"If you are comfortable there, then so be it." Maxmillion mumbled looking down at the girl curled in his lap. "To each their own."
With his feet flat against each other and knees slightly bent, there was a lot of room. His hands were outstretched pass his shoulders as he placed his palms upward. As if balancing something on them.
Starting the next phase of his cultivation was simple enough. A regular person would think he was doing some new age yoga.
(Disciple Scenario available. Would you like me to initiate?)
'Yes, go for it.' Thinking about something, he rembered to not waste the opportunity. 'Something to expand my "spiritual sea" and "reach" further than before. I want to have a much higher reach than last time.'
(Which should align with your plans for the future. A message from Noveria is playing.)
"Hey, if you gotten here already, that is great. I want to share a memory of us. Remember when I received my body for the first time?" The image moved around almost dancing. Selina was deep in meditation and did not break out. The scene changed to a desert area. "All the lighting that struck down. Such beautiful "Tribulation Glass" was formed.
Her voice came out in a pure ringing tone, that almost caused Maxmillion to become excited. He was happy for the mental guards in place to keep his body from reacting to that type of stimulus. He did not want to alienate Selina or any others for that matter. While in this form.
Unknown to Max, Maria Kyle had made it to the apartment. Tucked in bed by Mr.Vega. she rested and slipped into a deep sleep. The A.I. used the energy from the current cultivation and breakthrough to speed up her recovery. This completely took away the tribulation lightning. Max was to lost in memories to notice.
"Umm Selina." Maria mumbled. "Can not die till I tell her about her sister. I have to be their for them."
(New Scenario unfolding. Sending Mr.Vega to locate in disguise.)
