When Lory arrived with Zhao Li Xin, Fredhardt and Fargo were already standing across the desk while Lucas sat behind it, accepting a report. Their expressions were tense and serious, and the moment Lory and Zhao Li Xin entered, all eyes flicked toward her.
"Your Highness, Mr. Zhao," Fredhardt greeted with a polite nod.
"Princess. Li Xin," Fargo added, giving a casual salute.
Lory strolled into the room, her tone light. "What did I miss?"
Zhao Li Xin gave Fargo and Fredhardt a faint nod in acknowledgment, then pulled out a chair across from Lucas for Lory to sit, and then he found another chair for him to sit.
Fredhardt spoke first. "We've got great news from Jay. Miss Boyd has just gained us a very valuable ally inside White Rose School."
Lory's brows shot up. "Lydia did?!" Admiration sharpened her voice.
"Your friend's proving to be a better asset than we thought," Lucas said evenly.
