By the time he finished teaching the others, it was already in the evening, close to night. Thus, when he reached his for-the-time-being home, it was around 9 PM, if he were to use Earth-time.
Wu Shan entered, and immediately went to his bedroom on the second floor. He changed his clothes, laid down on his bed and closed his eyes, immersing himself into the Library of Existence, while making his physical body sleep.
In the LoE, he pulled up his status window proper to see his current state.
Name: Wu Kaoshan
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 13
Combat Class: Base
Cultivation: Base (53 Points)
Soul Sea Type: Cyan
Soul Attribute: Neutral
Soul Form: Yin-Yang Core
"Yin-Yang Core...?" he said, confused of what he just saw.
His Soul Form was something he never even heard of, though the principle of it seemed to be akin to what one would think as the typical Yin-Yang concept: Balance.
"Welp, I wanted to use the Void God Technique, but I suppose I'll have to make one myself." he said while pondering.
He had initially considered for the Myriad Dragonroars Technique, given its capability to hide his cultivation level. However, given that it's an established technique, and he wasn't exactly familiar with it first-hand, he decided against it and instead thinking of making a new one suited for himself.
"However, this won't be easy, given that I have next to no first-hand knowledge. I can only infer from LoE" he murmured.
Initially, after arriving to this world and organizing the Library of Existence, he forgot to check his own status, though he knew that he had the Cyan Soul Sea, and a neutral Attribute. But he forgot about his Soul Form, as he had to maintain the facade of being a young child, and it wasn't exactly easy, as even in his previous life, he couldn't even remember much of his own childhood.
Thus, he basically had to focus on pretending being dumb until he was at the age of 8 or 9. And even then, he already forgot to check his own Soul Form, until now. Thus, the initial plan of him to cultivate with the Void God Technique.
"Well, when life gives you lemons..." he sighed as he then began to search and pick chants for the new technique from the records in LoE.
This would last until the morning of the next day. Finishing the technique required about several hours of picking and matching the chants so it won't conflict with each other, while optimizing its capability. And after that, he still had to give it a name, memorize it and then practice the technique.
Overall, he had only practiced the basics of the technique. And as to the name of the technique, he called it 'Myriad Stellar Technique' for the time being. While the chants used in this one were optimized and non-conflicting with each other thanks to the hours he spent in LoE, however, he hadn't organized it for Gold-rank and beyond parts.
He then changed his clothes, went downstairs, had his breakfast: a bowl of noodles with poached egg for the meal and some tea for his drink. He finished it in 20 minutes or so. He cleaned the utensils and then headed out to the Institute.
As he entered the classroom after arriving at the school, he sat on his seat, made sure that his posture was firm enough, closed his eyes and used the Soul Separation technique to check the four, who were already present in the classroom, without alarming everyone else.
He could tell that they already became stronger after cultivating with the techniques he gave them. Especially Mo Cai and Yan Yao, who didn't look any different in terms of physique, but he could tell that their Soul Force had increased by a margin of at least 20%.
'Impressive... As one'd expect, give people the right tools and knowledge, and they'll bloom like flowers in no time.' he thought to himself as he then checked the other two.
'Meng Jia... I'd say he's within expectations. Ding Xiao though... The Red Thunder Sky Fire Tactics technique is certainly something, but I should prepare some pills, in case he does get his meridians damage later on.' he pondered for a little.
He then returned to his body. As he took a deep breath and opened his eyes, Mo Cai was suddenly in front of his desk. He was so surprised that he almost hit his head to the desk behind him.
"Sorry, Master! I didn't mean to startle you!" she said to him, while making a 'Teehe~' expression on her face.
'Sigh... This girl...' he thought as he opened his mouth.
"What is it? You got something you wanna ask?" he said while calming himself down.
"It's just... Master, you haven't told us about your te-" she said before he put his hands on her mouth.
He then made some gestures and made the silent ward again, this time only encompassing him and her.
"I know, I forgot. But next time, don't discuss things like this in the open." he said, sighing at her.
"My technique is called the Myriad Stellar technique. It's pretty much as strong as yours." he then continued.
"As expected of Master! The technique sounds very strong too!" She exclaimed.
"Okay, okay. Now that you know, is there anything else you wanna ask?" he then asked her.
"Nothing! I was just curious since Master didn't say about it yesterday!" she gleefully answered.
"Fine... Then you can go back to your seat. I'm gonna cultivate until the teacher's here." he said as he gestured her to leave.
As soon as she left, he then quietly murmured the chant of the technique, and began cultivating. He spent about 30 minutes cultivating until the teacher came into the classroom. Although it was a short session, he could feel that his Soul Force had gotten stronger by at least 5%.
Then, like yesterday, he'd pretend to pay attention to the teacher, while he's actually doing other things. He made an illusion ward to mask his eyes that were closed, to make it seem that it was open and that he was paying attention. He then cultivated while the lecture was ongoing, since the topic of the session was about the basics of cultivation. His Soul Force grew stronger, until recess came, and he opened his eyes.
He felt hungry and opened his meal: a meat bun, a veggie bun, and some tea for drinking. He finished it in almost an instant, causing the people surrounding him to gape in awe. Chen Linjian then came to his desk with Huyan Lanruo, who crossed her arms while looking at him.
"I knew it. You weren't paying attention earlier, did you?" he asked, while chuckling.
"Heh, you know me well." Wu Shan answered, chuckling as well.
"You got any plans after school's done? We should hang out every once in a while. I mean, it's been a long time..." Lanruo said, puffing her face.
"Okay, okay, we'll hang out today... When you make that face, you'll never let us off if we don't agree. Right, Linjian?" Wu Shan said, amused by her behavior.
"Yeah. She's scary if we don't follow what she wants." Chen Jian replied, making a fake shiver.
Indeed, it had been a while since the three spent time together. The two could only do so whenever they managed to visit his family's territory when accompanying their parents. They often fooled around, doing some mischief or just talking about other things, killing time while waiting for their parents to be done with their business in the Divine Guardian Family's territory.
As they chat with each other, the recess came to an end.
"Ah, before I forget. I'm gonna introduce you to Ye Hong. He's in the other class, but he'll be joining us later." Chen Jian said before he left with Huyan Lanruo, who waved with a smile, to return to their respective seats.
'Ye Hong, huh... He was never really seen that often, aside from when Shen Fei first appeared.' Wu Shan thought as the class at the day continued.
The remaining topic in the class for the day was on basic mathematics and alchemy. Putting aside his knowledge of Earth mathematics, which was extremely advanced when compared to this world's, he was interested in the alchemy of this world.
Granted, he had learned some from the LoE, but it was interesting to compare the knowledge of that world directly with the information he had at hand. Although in some respect it's similar to chemistry that he had learned in high school back on Earth, it was certainly different since it involves fine-tuning the processing of the ingredients used with Soul Power.
Thanks to this, he could utilize his Earth-based chemistry knowledge to create better pills, if he were to try and make one, though it would take quite the trial-and-error process to get it right. Also, he wanted to try if he could replicate some of the alchemical techniques used in fiction that he had read back on Earth, such as the ones from Fullmetal Alchemist.
