Oliver tilted his head to one side, and pondered it. "Maybe. Probably."
"At the very least, they might have assumed they could wound you, and rid you of the possibility of command," Verdant offered.
"I suppose in the process they have weakened our stronghold in Ernest," Jorah said. "Two blows in one, really. They have weakened the trust the citizens have in us… How Colonel Hoodrick's point, that there might be a secondary force we need to watch out for…"
"Is one we can dismiss. Colonel…" General Blackthorn began harshly, then petered out, realizing that he did not remember Jorah's name.
"Captain Jorah, General," Jorah told him, dipping his head.
"Yer a Colonel now, ain't ya?" Firyr muttered to him, loudly enough that everyone could hear. "You've commanded a thousand men."
Jorah said nothing back.
