"You saw supplies brought with you. You've six wagons full," Oliver said. "Foresight in that. What did you do? Leave two thousand men behind to gather them, and then have them catch up?"
"A thousand," Blackthorn replied. "Quickly enough done. Your man Greeves had kept our stores well organised. In another city, it might have been impossible to see them gathered so quickly."
"This extends the life of our chase by a significant degree," Oliver said. "Again, wisdom in that."
"A hunter does not undertake an endurance hunt without supplies, does he? You supposed that we should chase them slowly. Once we agreed to do that, the rest was simple enough."
"Hm…" Oliver said. "Perhaps that's the source of General Fitzer's confidence? The fact that he knows he can resupply?"
"That will be part of it. Before it gets full dark, he'll have neared Yingel. He likely plans to spend the night there."
