"Let's go!!"
Jessica shot three lightning arrows with a determined glare. Two of them hit but one of the enemies could evade the third one and was coming close to her fast. Jessica didn't have time to shoot another arrow so she ducked down under the demon, and used the sharp end of the grip of her bow to slice s cut in its stomach. It's body was tough and a thick, black liquid got out of the wound. At least they could hurt them this time. While spanning her bow, Jesicca made a roll away from the demon and shot another, final arrow at it. With a loud scream and a painful look in the face, with the big sharp teeth, the monster vanished and nothing but air was left of it. But there were still so many of them left. Another one jumped straight at her, but flew away after being hit with a strong projectile. Jessica's eyes fell on Kenji who stood next to her, looking forwards where he fought demons with his sword, in his right hand he held the mystery gun. Jessica wanted to ask about it but was interrupted when two demons approached her fastly, showing their sharp teeth. The girl bit her lips, rolled away and shot another charge of arrows. The rain was getting stronger but Jessica got hold of herself. She knew she had to fight and keep going on to save the people at the coast.
"~A promise…~"
She used the sharp side of her bow to hit the monsters in front of her which tried to stand up again.
"~I need to do it…because…~"
A loud thunder crashed as she rolled back, spun her bow and started to scream while shooting 6 enemies in front of her.
"IT'S A PROMISE!!!"
The demons screamed loudly when the arrows hit them, not only that but the water on the ground and their body kept hurting them even more in combination with the lightning arrows. Jessica wanted to turn around and save the citizens with her friends but someone interrupted. A boy with brown hair jumped in and without a weapon he kicked and killed the last demon around. Another wave of them was coming from the other side. Kenji looked at the boy with a satisfied smile as he started to talk.
"You decided yet?"
The boy nodded his head and he raised his voice with a smile on it.
"For now I did. Leave them to me, you go fight!"
Kenji didn't question anything he just turned around with a confident glare while nodding his head. Jessica wanted to say something but Hikari interrupted.
"Trust Kenji. We will proceed as planned."
Jessica, still confused turned around, too.
"Ok.."
Kenji looked back with a confident smile.
"Leave it to him."
The four Angels started to fight again. Everyone took on three of the enemies. Jessica could barely avoid one jumping at her, she cut into its feet with her bow and kicked it away. Hikari summoned 2 lightning arrows to shoot it at her enemy and it vanished as she did so. Suddenly she felt a huge pain in her shoulder and she started to scream. One of the demons had jumped on her back, boring its teeth deep into her flesh. Screaming she let herself fall down on her back, the teeth let go of her. Fastly she turned around and smashed the bow in her enemies face. It wasn't moving and with another arrow she sent it away forever.
"~Only one left.~"
The last one was circling her with an angry glare. It had a big scar going from the head till underneath its eye. She had seen this somewhere before, didn't she? Her confusion didn't get any better when the demon smiled at her and then ran off to vanish in the rain.
"~I didn't just see that thing smiling, impossible, what's gotten into me?~"
The others also finished fighting, Jessica was relieved. But then she realized something. Her enemy ran exactly in the direction of Shibaura coast. Tons of helpless people were there at the moment. She started to run there right away, rain was soaking her, thunders were crashing. She looked over her shoulder, saw everyone following her.
"Hurry the hell up!!"
Because Jessica didn't look she fell over the sideway, her hands and knees blooding, the pain from her wound earlier wasn't easing either. She stood up anyways, clenched her teeth and kept running as fast as possible, she ran and ran and ran when she finally arrived at the Shibaura coast. What she saw there shocked her. Her eyes widened. In front of her a huge heap of rubble from destroyed buildings, crying people standing around it. Jessica felt a big amount of darkness flowing out of them, behind them demons were manifesting.
"~So that's the resson for all these demons.~"
Everyone readied their weapons but the demons didn't attack anyone, neither the angels nor the civillians. Jessica looked up the heap of rubble again. A man with a black tattered coat was standing on it, with the back in her direction. The man turned around. The big scar and the amused smile was distinctive and now she knew exactly what that demon from before was.
"Madiel…Angel of Flames. Why are you here!?"
The fallen Angel touched his chest with his hand and spoke up with an enthusiastic voice.
"Oh, Jessicaaaa, I am so glad you remember me!"
Jessica didn't join up the play.
"I'll ask again. Why are you here? Is this typhoon your doing?"
Maldiel shook his head.
"I told you, I can't intervene myself yet. I am just using it my cute Angel. Say, who is your enemy? The demons who are killing people or the people who create them?"
His smile pissed Jessica off by his never ending smile, she pointed her bow at him.
"Of course you are the enemy!! You are responsible for all this!!"
Maldiel laughed out loud.
"Oh please put that down. You know you don't want to fight me. And I am not responsible for this all by myself at all. I just increased their suffering and fear a bit and gave it form. It's their fault for harboring darkness and suffer, isn't it?"
Jessica knew it would be bad if she provoke and fought him. She let down her bow and sighed.
"I'll ask one last time. Why are you here if you ain't gonna kill anyone here?"
Maldiel's voice got more quiet as he sat down on a peace of wood.
"Well, I am here to test somebody. And who knows maybe I can welcome a new member. Hey! How about a little game? You three..."
He turned his head in the direction of Kenji, Jason and Hikari.
"If you can keep fighting my cute shadow wolves down there, until the fight between Jessica and her enemy ends, I'll leave and it's up to you to save everyone."
He looked back to Jessica.
"So? Will you accept?"
Kenji raised his voice.
"If you think you can do it, then do it. If you can't, then we will find another way. Just know what's better for you."
Jessica nodded with a determined expression.
"I accept."
Maldiel snapped his fingers.
"Well then…let's begin."
As he snapped, the rain got heavier and heavier instantly, the demons were approaching Jessica's friends and thunders as loud as explosions were constantly crashing in the sky. Suddenly the earth was shaking. A huge demon, as tall as a house was slowly approaching Jessica. It had red-shining eyes and on it's back there were "small" cyclones. The demon started talking. It's voice sounded like it was suffering and sad.
"Jeee…ssssiiii…ccccaaaa…"
The voice which sounded like it was whispering was yet being so clear for Jessica to hear but she was shocked anyways. Like she was freezed she couldn't move and let go hold of her bow. She started to feel dizzy, she knew this voice, her head started to hurt as the demon continued.
"It's all…your…fault…"
Jessica was starting to cry, tears were coming out of her wide-open eyes.
"It…can't be…NOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Everything turned black for Jessica and she fell to the ground…
