Chapter 78 - Chapter 78: Shocked The Doctors

Yu Qi followed closely behind Grandpa Tang as they passed through the grand main entrance of Tang Hospital. She was flanked by the male members of the Tang family, an imposing escort that drew every eye in the lobby. The only one missing from their ranks was Tang Qin Hao, though the group still commanded an incredible amount of attention.

As they walked, Yu Qi became the target of countless curious and piercing stares. Many of these looks came from the female doctors and nurses, and they were laced with unmistakable envy. The two Tang brothers were walking beside her, chatting with such warmth and intimacy that the onlookers felt like they might wither Yu Qi with their glares alone. After all, the brothers were renowned throughout the medical industry not just for their skill, but for their devastatingly handsome features.

Even though Tang Qin Hao was considered a bit eccentric, he was equally adored by the female staff. Seeing these high-status men treat a young girl with such gentle, affectionate eyes was enough to trigger a wave of silent hostility from the spectators.

"What are you doing?" Tang Qin Hao joined them.

The group stopped as Tang Qin Hao appeared, finally completing the family circle.

"You've arrived as well, Little Sis?" Tang Qin Hao greeted her, his tone uncharacteristically friendly and warm.

"How are you, Brother Qin?" Yu Qi replied with a bright smile, feeling delighted to see this particular brother of hers.

The words 'Little Sis' rippled through the surrounding crowd like a shockwave. Little sister? Everyone exchanged confused glances. According to every piece of gossip and official information they had ever heard, the Tang family didn't have a single girl in their younger generation. The mystery of her identity only deepened the intrigue.

"Alright, enough loitering. Go to work, all of you. Yu Qi is staying with me today. I intend to teach her personally," Grandpa Tang announced, shooing his grandsons away.

"Can't I stay with Little Sis too?" Tang Jin Wei asked, his face collapsing into a comical pout.

He looked at her with puppy-dog eyes, desperately hoping she would take his side. Unfortunately for him, he was unwittingly digging his own grave.

"Jin Wei, if you wish to take a lesson with me, you are more than welcome to stay by Yu Qi's side." Grandpa Tang said, a sly, mischievous smile spreading across his face.

"Huh? What kind of lesson?" Tang Jin Wei asked, completely failing to notice the trap his grandfather had set.

"Traditional Chinese herbs." Grandpa Tang replied succinctly.

"I... I just remembered I have a mountain of work to do! Bye, Little Sis, see you later!" Tang Jin Wei practically bolted from the hallway. He would rather work a double shift than endure a lecture on herbalism.

"Why does he look so terrified?" Yu Qi whispered to Tang Han Lee, watching Jin Wei's retreating figure.

"A long time ago, he was forced into a lesson about Chinese herbs." Tang Han Lee whispered back, leaning in close. "Because he was such an unwilling student, Grandfather punished him by making him taste all the most bitter medicinal herbs. To this day, the mere mention of herbal medicine sends him into a panic."

"I see." Yu Qi giggled.

"Well, I will be off as well." Tang Han Lee said, excusing himself. Before he left, he turned back with a parting word. "Grandfather, try not to torture Little Sis too much."

He knew his grandfather had a tendency to be overzealous when teaching. Given that Yu Qi appeared to be such a delicate young lady, he did not want her to collapse from exhaustion on her first day.

"Brat! What do you mean by 'torture'?" Grandpa Tang barked, his voice echoing in the hall.

He took great offence at being described as a tyrant when he clearly considered himself a gentle, patient mentor. Humph!!!

Tang Jung Wen and Tang Jang Qin took that as their cue to slip away quietly to their respective departments, leaving the old man to his mock tantrum.

Yu Qi remained by Grandpa Tang's side as they proceeded deeper into the hospital. Along the way, a group of senior doctors approached to pay their respects.

"Chairman Tang, a very good morning to you." The lead doctor said, bowing respectfully.

"What is it? What do you want?" Grandpa Tang asked, cutting straight to the point without a shred of polite preamble.

"We are currently conducting some specialised research, and we were hoping you might find the time to offer us your professional opinion." The leader asked tentatively.

He was careful not to provoke the old man, whose moods were famously unpredictable.

"What sort of research are you currently focusing on?" Yu Qi interrupted.

She could not help herself. The mention of medical research immediately piqued her scientific curiosity.

"Hmm... this is..." The lead doctor hesitated, glancing at Grandpa Tang as if to ask who this young girl was and why she was speaking out of turn.

"This is my granddaughter and my primary disciple." Grandpa Tang informed them, his voice thick with pride.

The doctors froze. They had heard whispers that the great Chairman Tang had finally taken a disciple, but it had never occurred to them that the disciple was his own granddaughter. Wait, since when does the Chairman have a granddaughter? The question swirled in their minds, creating a whirlwind of internal chaos, yet not a single one of them possessed the courage to voice it.

"My granddaughter asked you a question. Why are you standing there like statues instead of answering her?" Grandpa Tang asked impatiently.

"It's about... well..." The leader stammered, his ears turning pink.

"Out with it!" Grandpa Tang snapped, his patience wearing thin.

"It is... a study on the Viagra pill." The doctor finally admitted.

His face turned a deep shade of crimson as he spoke, looking as though he wanted nothing more than to vanish into the floorboards.

"Oh, that pill." Yu Qi said casually, her voice steady and entirely unbothered by the sensitive nature of the topic.

The doctors were stunned into silence. 'Does this young girl actually know what that is? How could she possibly understand its function?'

"Yu Qi dear, are you familiar with this medication?" Grandpa Tang asked, surprised by her nonchalant reaction.

"Yes, I have come across information regarding it before. It is commonly prescribed to men, typically those over the age of forty. Its primary function is to inhibit certain enzymes to increase blood flow, thereby assisting men during intercourse."

She delivered the explanation with clinical precision, completely oblivious to the fact that the doctors were looking at her with their jaws practically touching the floor.

"Er... Miss Yu Qi, if I may ask... where exactly did you hear about such specific details?" The lead doctor asked.

The drug was still in its early stages and certainly wasn't common public knowledge yet.

"I... I don't quite remember. My apologies." Yu Qi suddenly realised her blunder.

The widespread use of that pill was a phenomenon of the future. 'Damn, my tongue slipped again," she thought bitterly. Being a soul from the future was proving to be a logistical nightmare. If she were not careful, people would start thinking she was some sort of omniscient deity.

"Hahaha! As expected of my brilliant disciple!" Grandpa Tang bellowed with laughter.

He was so delighted by her knowledge that he chose to ignore the strangeness of its source, preferring instead to bask in her reflected glory.

"Well? What are you waiting for? Lead the way!" Grandpa Tang urged the doctors toward the research lab.

Yu Qi followed silently, making a mental vow to keep her mouth shut. She had already attracted enough suspicious and skeptical looks from the doctors to last a lifetime, especially after her textbook-perfect explanation of a "secret" medication.
