The Queen Of The World Ep.3
They exited through the backdoors right on to the tarmac not too far away from the door. Leena was at the door as she could hear them without much difficulty. The expression on the queen's face proved that she was really mad. She started yelling at the top of her lungs at Niel and pointing out his terrible qualities. She especially made an emphasis on how bad he protected Leena. Lenna was hearing all of this but decided not to interrupt thinking that would make her grandmother more mad. She was planning on consoling Neal later as he wasn't a terrible guard. After her little rampage, the queen decided to give Niel three hundred whips as a punishment. Niel without hesitation accepted and went on his knees. Once hearing about the whips Leena jumped out as she couldn't stand it anymore.
Leena was explaining so fast of the reason why Niel doesn't serve the whips to the point where they could barely understand what she was saying. Once her little rant was over how Niel is the best bodyguard in the world and even if in others eyes he wasn't, he could get better, she looked at her grandmother with a pleading look. The queen has a soft spot for her family and especially her granddaughter as she looked over her as a child. This is something that Leena doesn't remember though. The queen unwillingly agreed to give no whips to Niel.
Even though the queen agreed, she wanted Leena to start training for her safety just in case. The only person who can teach combat skills to Leena well is Niel since they are so close. The queen offered to not give the whips if Niel became her training mentor. Leena was hesitant to accept as Niel already had a lot on his plate giving protection and if he couldn't teach Leena well, he would also get punished for that. Finally she said yes so Niel wouldn't get beaten up and thought she could save him again. Even though she agreed, there were different motives behind why her grandmother choose Niel. He is the best at combat in the entire kingdom without using chanting magic. For reasons unknown to others he is unable to cast magic that doesn't use his sword.
Neil was completely shocked by her decision and wanted to say something but stayed quiet after seeing the queen's expression. He was utterly shocked as she thought that training with a "friend" would be awkward for Leena and so would say no. Also that she may be mad at him for hiding this from her. She requested that she wanted to talk with Niel in private but promised no punishments but no eavesdropping. Leena agreed to this and went back to her parents.
The queen suddenly asked Neil after Leena left if he likes Leena. He was taken aback but admitted to it. Even against most Queens or Kings he could have a slight chance of lying and getting away with it but here it's impossible. There was a special power that was only in the royal bloodline that allowed them to know when someone was lying or not and was called Detecting. They were only able to activate this power when they reached a certain stage in their magic training. The queen kinda felt like this would happen. She had her suspicions but all she said was Leena must never know even though indirectly he told her a hint but Leena was very dense. She didn't want to go against her granddaughter's wishes but didn't think that Niel was the right fit as a partner. He was unable to cast magic and eventually will be surpassed by other youths. What the queen didn't know was that their fate was set before they were born. In life or death they will never separate.
They walked back in to meet the others and Niel assured Leena that nothing happened to him and everything was fine. He also explained the memories of everyone is they went home sick. The teacher will only say that the queen is coming tomorrow instead of today. Hearing this Leena wondered who was so strong to erase memories. Everyone after parted ways and Leenas parents said that they were going to move into the palace. As her grandmother was about to leave, she reminded Leena that her training would start very soon.
